You guys are lucky.So I guess the chances of the beta being in the japanese retail units is high aswell.I guess I should pick up this mag just for the demo to add to my collection.Since im not getting PAL 360

Maybe we can get some people to confirm what titles are region free sometime soon.But I doubt many people have PAL and NTSC units.I hope the demo is region free.

 

Do you think it would be downloadable from Live? I mean, handing it out with a magazine doesn't make it too exclusive, so it's not like it'd be out of the question.

 

I doubt it.FFXI takes up 8 gigs on my PS2 harddrive.I

 

Compression techniques though....

 

Two points:

1) The FFXI beta is going to be big. Probably not going to be a download.

2) On the Xbox OXM UK discs would not boot on US machines unless they were modded. No reason to believe this would change for the new system.

3) OXM UK and OXM US are both owned by Future. Chances of the US arm doing something similar are high.

Isnt the XBOX 360 HD like 20 gigs? Ouch hows this gonna work?

 

Better compression techniques do to the increased power o-o I would think anyway. Or im sure the DVD drive can stream a certain amount of info with how fast the damn thing spins

 

Smart move on Square's part. Every person that gets that disc is a potentiai customer since I'm positive they'll let you update to the final version.

 

Ms almost might as well give out the retail for free. I mean hell thats crazy if pretty much everybody will have the beta.

Oh also next week I can try to check out region lock on FFXI. I will have my jpn 360 by then and will have the disc. I'll just pass it along to a coworker to test on his USA unit.

Also if you want the jpn beta, buygame2.com now has stock for the beta.

I'm hoping that the rumors are true that most usa software is not region locked or region locked to NTSC only (not NTSC-U). Then i will be all set!!

 

Of course, if you wanted to sell it to me for cheaper then that price, i wouldnt mind lol

:noooo: FFXI is one of the bigger reasons I went with a jpn 360 unit insted of waiting and fighting soccer moms for a unit from the 2nd shippment for Canada.

 

I think im ordering the Japanese unit as well since it plays a few US games.

 

If anyone wants me to pick up the UK version of this I probably can, but bear in mind it will cost bloody tons to post as magazines are heavy. I could probably just post the DVD and bin/keep the magazine if you wanted though, but you would have to pay for the whole magazine even if you wanted the DVD only.
