I'm really glad there's no US-only games I want, b/c that looks like a major pain in the ass just to boot it. :)

I can't get it to work >_< I get to the CMD prompt bit but it says Titleman isn't there. I think I got the wrong filepack.

Anyone help? (I'm doing this for HDD support, not the pirate games)

Deathcoaster, you need to be in the same directory as your titleman frontend

Extract it all to C:\exploit (where c= your drive)

then open your command line (start->run->"cmd") (no quotes)

    Then type

    CD C:\
    CD exploit
    titleman.exe -a DISK_ID.HERE

    That simple!

Edit, its SIMPLE to do really, the pain is settin it up, after that just throw in your PS1 disk and it runs fine!

I still think that a good modchip is the best way to go. Specially modern chips like Matrix Infinity and DMS4.

With those modchips you can install any normal HD and then install the HDD utility, so the ps2 recognizes the HDD as the official one, and you can backup saves, and install game caches. Plus you can install applications on the memory card.

Other functional features are DVD region free, play PAL games in color in NTSC systems, upgradeable modchip bios ( for new features ).

300 gb of archived games is one hell of a ps2 funbox

  11. Hate to sound like an ass, but this has actually been common knowledge in the PS2 'scene' for a good few years now.

Basically, this trick allows you to boot any kind of PS2 executable file (.elf) file from memory card using a little bug in the PS1 driver. I believe this bug was fixed in the PSTwo,

Anyway, been using it myself for a while... you can have some real fun with it actually... using the exploit, you can boot multi-boot loaders such as KeyLoader, which allows you to load other executables from memory card or even hard disc. This can obviously be anything from emulators to 'game loaders' such as the CogSwapLoader, which can be used to load Import/Backup games.

It's nice, and it works fine... but it's a lot more fiddly than the guide makes it sound. No substitute for a modchip.

What's with the pstwo muppet chip?

I heard it's good, but the site looks well, muppetish

  13. From what I'm getting from the website, you need a HDD (and the network adaptor to interface with it) and some sort of modded PS2 to get the nessicary loader files on the memory card...

Not really what I'd call no-strings-attached usable on an unmodded PS2. :smt009

HDD loader and a hd with a netw adapter is all. Custom burned cdr.

    Lots already own that.

  15. I guess I just think of those as extras, or modifications of a sort. It's still not a stock PS2 that this can run on.

Looking further into it, I guess I was expecting something that would allow me to put a little loader on a memory card where I could boot imports with no mod on any PS2, but this all seems to be HDD-based. Woe unto he with a legit use for the exploit, I guess... :smt009 :smt043

Old news indeed. Though, despite CJPC's help, I never got it working - I guess it's down to me having a US PS2 and every modded PS2 that I have access to (ie those of a few of my friends) are PAL, and I have only one memory card. Though I would only use it for imports anyway.

Assembler, forget HDloader. Get HDAdvance 2.0 "patched" . This is the newest version and supports HD's up to 200GB.

Anyway, the good thing about Matrix Infinity is that you can install a software called "Infinity Manager" on the memory card and then install applications like HD Advance, Divx and MP3 players, Emulators and so on on the memory card as well.

Then when you turn your system on, you hold one button and the Infinity Manager menu shows up. You sellect the application and it boots from the memory card.

CJPC can talk more about this as he knows this more than me. My PS2 is now modded with Matrix Infinity and i already upgraded it's bios to the latest one (1.39). I'm saving some cash to get a 80GB or 120GB HD so i can explore more of it's features.

Finally the PS2 dev scene is growing, mostly because the HD and the newer modchips.

This psone exploit doesn't work in pstwo and v11 ps2. These models were released without the bug.
I'm using this trick with a free utility called keylauncher. It runs a gui where you can select some of the applications you store at the mc.
I made a cd image with all the stuff and loaded it at my memory card from a chipped ps2. Now I can use hdloader from mc to load all my imports and pal games at the hard disk. My laser will not fail and I can play imports without modifying console and with faster loading times.
