Shared some weeks ago by level42 for the Redump project. Really interesting thing from, in my opinion, the best console-native first person shooter ever done. Its dated like four months before the retail version and have some differences. For example the sight is different, game have some slowdowns, there are cutscenes (in the retail game there are not, all action is seen from the first person pov), not finished animations and some scenes missing (like the skyscrapper bombing). A lot in the crazy-short demo. Here's an HD gameplay of the demo (1080p outputed through GSM and cropped/resized to 720p).
I never got a chance to play this game yet, I'm surprise it made by EA. I guess that when EA wasn't being a shitbag back then.
Thanks for sharing. This is one of my most favourite games of all time. Looks weird without the perspective blur, pleased that got added to the final. If you've never played this game I strongly suggest hooking your PS2 up to a surround sound system and max out the volume. It's epic.
I can upload it if anyone is interesting, but you can found it on any site that have an updated Redump romset, Underground-Gamer for example.
You can find the stand alone demo disc on ebay.com. The Black demo is also available on the Jampack demo disc vol.14 (the rated RP-M disc, not the RP-T one).
That's awesome! ... I never actually played the Demo, I simply bought it to add to the ReDump project. Thanks!
It was in development by Criterion Software before EA bought them - so it makes perfect sense; companies that get bought out by EA do sometimes manage to produce a decent game if they can get it out quickly enough before the EA cancer destroys them. Of course, this does nothing about the long-term prognosis, which is that at some point they will start producing nothing but absolute shite.
I love this one on Xbox. I still play it, even made my own cheat patch (since the .etm doesn't work). The demo looks kinda cooler in some graphics. And yes, HD re-release with multiplayer (the only thing missing).
