Playstation 3 freezes in XMB, no picture when rebooted.

I could take it to a friend's place and try it and see how it goes.
I noticed that all the screws are rounded on the system including the HDD.
What has this system gone through!?

 

A bellend seller who's probably took it apart to try and do something to it and ballsed it up then tried to sell it on and make cash without properly knowing the rules.

 

A failed reball, wouldn't surprise me. It can take up to whole month for these claims to be settled.. Could I see a resolution next week?
