Here some leak photograph of Orbis prototype controller

The omens are clear: Sony will unveil its new PlayStation next February 20. Nearly longer take it for granted, but a few days before we can see the final hardware and aged (not old) PlayStation 3, and has appeared on the Internet a photograph of the alleged would be one of the commanders of the development kit its successor.

The image, published by Destruction shows a typical aspect PlayStation command except for the inclusion of a reflective surface (tactile surface Well known to PlayStation Vita?), A perforated grid (like house a speaker or a microphone) and a dim blue light-style PlayStation Move. The relief of mushrooms analog is a bit strange, but that would be a command to temporarily supplied by the SDK developers.

Confirmed through reliable sources that it is a legitimate photography, but do not know how much or little they may seem in command that will be included with the console.

I'm fairly sure the "04:49" is not supposed to be there, unless it's a watermark of some sort.

    The NDEV is plugged in?

NDEVs are ancient pieces of hardware. No developer has used them since the wiis lauch.

There is really no reason to have a functioning NDEV along side a 'next gen' dev system.
Perhaps the person who took the picture is entrenched in the industry and collects hardware after it has become obsolete?

So, either the controller is an old version or it is fake.

The NDEV and pointer(?) in the corner make it look like an NDEV owner who really wanted to get the internet riled up.

As a side note, check out the cord on the controller.
Anybody who has ever opened a USB cable knows that cables only do that when they are brand new. This is supported by the bread tie in front of the of the 'dev kit'.
    The cable was just opened.

    What does this mean?

No idea. Just writing stuff on a topic that doesn't interest me in the slightest.

    EDIT:
With the NDEV sitting on top of the alleged kit, it implies that the kit has been in use for some time or at least was set up as a display.
Yet the USB cable is brand new.

Since the USB port on the PS3 is standard, we can assume the kit is the same way.
This means that it could be he simply lost the supplied cable or he never used the supplied cable.

If this cable is a replacement for the lost one:
Why is he charging it now? If he lost the original cable, he would have had to charge the controller at some point, right?
So he must never use the kit. Meaning the kit id fake or just old and he collects such things.

Or perhaps it only lights up like that while charging and he couldn't find the official cable.
Still doesn't answer the question on why he needed the cable right before this picture was taken,
Perhaps he was having a conversation with a friend and wanted to brag about his kit.

This picture was clearly set up for this shot. It is not an image from a production environment. (Though this is supported by the presence of the NDEV)

The sunlight coming in from the window also supports that this is not a development facility.
How many facilities have you been to that have windows anywhere near such things?
Even if it were, the screen and the window are set up sub-optimally for long term usage.

Maybe it is a dummy that draws power from USB?
That's why he didn't have a cable around to use. He never needed it before.
That would mean that the controller is a real model, the kit is fake.

Anyway, I honestly don't care. I just needed to pass some time while my torrent finished downloading.
Don't take anything I said too seriously. I just wanted a puzzle.

It's a lcd touch pad, so it could display a clock. But it wasn't on the original picture.

It means it was unboxed on Wednesday shortly before the picture was taken.

I have no doubt that it's really the latest orbis devkit & controller.

    Then why the NDEV?

I'm not arguing or saying you're wrong.
I've learned that people here generally know what's what as far as bleeding edge goes.

It makes sense that the picture was taken right after it was unboxed. Explains quite a bit.

I just don't get why they have a functioning NDEV.

The NDEV is used for Wii development. There are still some people releasing games for it.

The picture wasn't staged for the internet, it wasn't meant to end up on a news site.

I think he was implying that nobody would use an NDEV anymore, and use other hardware instead - not that Wii isn't being developed for anymore. Old hardware, better replacements.

I have no idea NDEV, because I'm not expert on this controller either real or not. I guess this a mock up or prank right ?

For my understanding that latest Sony PS Orbis controller will not have home button, which this picture does show a home button.

    EDIT

    http://consolecrunch.com/prototype-ps4orbis-developer-console-image-surfaces/

It confirm it the very early prototype PS Orbis controller, so I was right at the beginning unless one correct me wrong.

Well he's wrong, at least one person still uses an NDEV for Wii development. I don't know what he should use instead or why he's still using an NDEV.

The home button features in some of the recent stuff that Sony have been talking about. So I don't know why they'd remove it. I imagine they still use it for turning the controller on too.

It is a prototype & it could change, but this was delivered to a developer this week. The previous devkit was in a PC case, so this is at least the latest of that. I don't see why they would ship an early prototype controller with the latest devkit.

There is no conspiracy, the original photo is legitimate & represents the current state.
