Please help me name this game(Mark III game).

Hi, can someone please give me the name of the game in the top right corner of this picture? If I didn't know any better, I would say this is a Rocky video game, but I'm not quite sure.

Ah, awesome. Have you, or anyone here, played this game?

I've played a Rocky game for the Sega Master System.
I'm assuming the Mark III version in the picture is the same game.

Was it close to Punch Out!! style fighting, or different? Also, was it fun?

Nah, it was set up in a 2D sideview fashion similar to a fighting game like Street Fighter II. Your boxer (Rocky) could only move left and right and the controls were stiff and unresponsive. There were only 3 opponents (Appollo, Lang, and Drago) and there were bonus training mini-games that would boost your abilities if you completed them successfully.
NES Punch Out was more fun even though Rocky was a more realistic version of boxing.

Rocky for the Master System (and I assume for Mark III as well) was a set in a side perspective like most 1on1 fighters. including like Taito's arcade Final Blow / renamed Buster Douglas Knockout Boxing for Genesis.

I played SMS Rocky once through emulation. it didn't seem very fun. I'll have to go back and try it again.

Rocky was decent for SMS at the time. It's OK now.

SMS only run a few quid this side of the ocean. SMS>NES in the UK, for sure. Might even be worth buying one from Ebay UK, if the postage costs don't kill it. Plus you'd need one of those PAL-NTSC boxes... ah forget it ;)

You'll probably need some adaptor or something if you only have Mark III games - the Japanese MkIII/SMS carts look a lot different to the western ones. Anyone know if they have the same pins on them?

And from what I can see, a PAL SMS (well SMS II anyway - I assume the first model is the same too) will only output 50 or 60Hz PAL - you will probably need to change some chip or get a converter box if you want to use one in NTSC Land. It'll probably just be easier to get a US or JP one.

g_sepp, that might be a tall order - even I paid £80 for mine with a few (good) games - that's like $150 right there.

As for adaptor, there was a Hong Kong site that still manufacture and sell them, but I forget which one. Not Lik-Sang, not Lan-Kwei, maybe Success? They sold UFO copiers too, I think.
