Please say a little prayer for Scotland today!

I realise that there are Italian members on AG so they are excluded from this particular request (and I wish them well this afternoon). However may I please ask everyone else no matter where you are, whether you like soccer (football as we call it) or whether you've even heard of Scotland or not - give the Scottish Football squad a wee, small prayer today?

The Scottish Football team has long been ridiculed for having a very poor success rate. We've seen some terrible years of terrible football and had to endure the laughter from across the border, across Europe and frankly across the world! The disapointment of winning very few important games.

It has been a LONG road back to a football team Scotland could be proud of and today we face what is most undeniably the toughest challenge of the last decade of football.

England are on the verge of being put out of the European cup qualifiers. We are keeping our fingers crossed that they get through, but Scotland thus far has performed remarkably well!

Today, we face the World Champion football nation - Italy. Arguably the strongest, most passionate & hardest defending nation currently on the planet!

Scotland will play Italy at Hampden Park (Scotland's nation stadium) to a sell out crowd. The city is completely packed out with Italian and Scottish supporters (every hotel is fully booked) and they've even erected a massive outdoor TV on Glasgow Green.

Of course, being realistic I am hoping Scotland can win as that would just be amazing outstanding, if not to mention a bloody miracle! Yet, Italy are the firm favourites.

A small prayer, a tiny wish, a bit of moral support - and if you are Italian the best of luck this afternoon as I think we'll see a great game no matter who wins!

That's not a bad idea, perhaps that's why every Scotsman has paired up with an Italian at every bar throughout Glasgow - "Here Roberto have another, no man it's on me! Drink up!"

 

Hope your boys can pull it off Parris, If England can`t make it through would be nice to have at least one side representing the UK in the cup.

Nope, it's Sky Sports, but I know satellite channels are available to a great deal of people throughout many different countries <cough!> even where it isn't supposed to be!

The SFA official website will have highlights, but I think you have to pay - since when did football get "owned" eh? Annoying!

 

We need at least one british country through, even if England have royally fucked ourselves up. Come on Scotland, and we need uber prayers for Israel and Macedonia so that England also stand a chance of qualifying!
