anyone here get banned on pnet today? i just got hit on 3 dif consoles... its not RROD or anything i get some Logon_XBOX_ACCOUNT_BANNED shit on all 3 units...
I only say one thing: Man, you guys sure pissed them (Microsoft) for real this time ... Anyway, don't devkits have the "hability" of generating new device certs when the flash get corrupted ? I had this impression that the software on these recovery discs could regenerate the keyvault and flash new DVD encryption keys on the drives. That, from reading some posts here. If it's true, one could wonder how they (MS) make the bans permanent...
Haha @bear, first you get killed by a 9328.9, then PNet bricks another kit, then you get banned. ;P When was the last time you three were on before logging into the ban? -Doom
i fixed the first brick by reflashing the nand from a backup then i never bought another 1 after the efuse brick - only ever had 1
Being that you have a prototype kit that should have been destroyed, this makes some sense as to why it would have gotten hit. -hl718
If MS is taking the same approach to this that they do with retail consoles, they are likely changing things up to keep people off-guard. The only way to stay safe is to stay off PN or any other network that you're not supposed to be on. -hl718
Perhaps bricking is bad business because it could hit some legitimate developers (probably did) and it causes discomfort, costs (for shipping and repair of mistakenly disabled kits) and downtime for the legitimate users of XDKs (devs). Banning keeps leakers away and I think their major concern now is leaks. I suppose they bricked kits out of rage for the leak incidents, but after giving it a better thought, banning is probably enough. A year and half ago leaks would be meaningless as most people wouldn't be able to run such code without a devkit. Now JTAG hacked consoles are here to stay... :flamethrower::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil: Time to tighten up the security ...
If you do, might as well capture video. If it works, no biggie. If you get banned, well at least you'll have a video example of what happens to show others. Never hurts to document. -hl718
I would still dismantle it and short-circuit the R6T3 output line no GND in order to disable fuse blowing before attempting to go to PNET, anyway.
