Sup poké trainers! I haven't played pokemon since my childhood in a while, however these last days I've been changing that. I started watching the first season episodes, as well as researching about pokemon and see what I've been missing... So far so good and I found that I am particullary interested on this game, written above as the tittle mentions. I saw a youtube vid yesterday (and dam, I didn't add to my favourites, and now I can't show you guys..) that had on it's description written by the uploader, that this version included all the pokemon, whithout the need of trading, and also that the Mewtwos cave was different, among with pokemon sprites and stuff... Now something is bugging me. I've googled for this JP version, and all the reviews state that Pokemon green was released alongside with pokemon red in Japan, and also like the other versions, don't have all the 151 pokemons included, wich makes me wonder if that guy was right or under drugs effects... Whacha trainers know bout this? I wanna catch 'em all in one fu*kn cart rolf.
There is no official pokemon cart that has ever had every pokemon catchable in one version, the whole point of the game was you catch & trade with others who have different versions to you. In japan they released red & green first (in the states they changed the green title to blue) In japan they released blue & it had a different mix of pokemon to both red & green & is different to the usa blue version.
I think the sprites in Green, or Red and Blue or quite cool in a strangely drawn way. They look much more like little animals.. If thats the case, importaku, do the Japanese Green and Red have the same sprites? I know that Greens sprites look different to those in red blue released here..
Yes the sprites are the same in red & green. The usa blue version really wasn't the true blue version as that was only ever released in japan & it had slightly different sprites. compared to red & green.
Beware, Pokemon is played by a large amount of attention seeking brats. This leads to enormous amounts of bullshit. Never before had I ever heard so many crazy rumors about a game before Pokemon. Anyway, isn't Pokemon Leaf Green for GBA basically Pokemon Green? Same with that Fire Red version.
Yeah.. that's what I always knew... anyways, can you prove it? It's not that I don't believe you, cause I do, I just wanted to know which pokemons don't come along with the green version.
Are you sure? I could have sworn ONLY green had different pokemon sprites. Unless you're differentiating between JP red and US red. If there are two different versions of red, then that makes sense. But dude... All you need to do is get to the truck by the S.S. Anne (which doesnt exist), and use stength on it with a pokemon who is exactly lvl 47, on a Tuesday, and THEN MEW APPEARS!
I've heard so much garbage about ways to get mew and stuff, I'm having a hard time believing that. do you have a guide? or pics? or better yet, a youtbe link?
Pokemon Red JPN version is the same as Pokemon Red USA with different sprites and you get a diploma instead of mew when you get 150. There are 11 pokemon that are NOT in this version, that you must trade with Pokemon Green to get. Pokemon Green JPN version is the same as Pokemon Blue USA with different sprites and you get a diploma instead of mew when you get 150 There are 11 pokemon that are NOT in this version, that you must trade with Pokemon Red to get Pokemon Blue JPN version has different, more detailed sprites. This is where Pokemone Red and Blue USA got their sprites from. There are also 11 pokemon not in this game at all, that you must trade with red AND green to get all 150 and then get mew. As for the truck rumor the truck IS there, you have to lose a a battle on SS ann so it does not take off when you leave. After rubbing the back of the captain and doing everything you need, find the last person you can fight and throw the match. you will respawn at the pokemon center. Continue the game until you get the HM for Strength and surf, go back to the SS Ann. It will still be there. Use surf and go to the right (you can go to the left but nothing is there) . the truck IS there, but you cannot MOVE it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFn9pqOYvus Proof of truck, and proof that you CANNOT move it. I wish I had the Nintendo power still that showed pictures of it, and showed you debunked the mew trick - but proved the truck is there. the truck is just an easter egg. It's the ONLY vehicle in the entire game. Possibly left over from beta.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlDRlXyp9HM WOW I guess it IS true... I'm trying this as SOON as i finish my homework!
Pretty good explanation XxHennersXx! However if anyone knows which pokemons each version doesn't bring I'll appreciate. (for red/ blue/ yellow and green)
So what is this about a Diploma or Mew? In Japan you got Mew in the game by doing something opposed to in the US where it was a promo thing or GameShark/Game Genie?
None of the gb games gave you mew, i got all 150 pokemon in the japanese versions & you get the same diploma. Mew only appeared & able to be caught in pokemon emerald on gba, you needed a event item to activate the in game event. check out serebii.net for as much info as you need.
Well, I haven't personally caught all 150 in JPN, but in America, you got a diploma. the rumor is that you get mew if you get all 150 but I'm not 100% sure of that. There is a glitch, (discoverd fairly recently) that let's you catch mew in red/blue/green/yellow but most people got it with a game shark. it was given away in America with special machines that plugged your Gameboy into a machine that is operated with a SFC controller that transfers a mew into your party. pokemon exclusive to red: ekans, arbok, oddish, gloom, vilelume, mankey, primape, growlithe, arcanine, scyther, elcatbuzz blue exclusives are - sandshrew, sandslash, meowth, persian, bellsprout, weepinbell, victreebel, vulpix, ninetales, pinsir, magmar pokemon NOT in yellow are - meowth, persian, magmar, ekans, arbok, electabuzz, weedle, kakuna, beedrill, koffing, weezing, jynx Japanese blue exclusives - Ekans, Arbok, Vulpix, Ninetales, Mankey, Primeape, Bellsprout, Weepinbell, Victreebel, Electabuzz, Magmar It is worth noting that following trades with the old men in Cerulean City and Cinnabar Island in Pokémon Red and Blue, they claim the Pokémon traded to them "went and evolved," despite the fact that this makes no sense whatsoever for Raichu or Poliwhirl. This is explained by the text of the game being taken directly from Pocket Monsters Blue, where the claim of evolution after those trades indeed makes sense.
In Japan, Red/Green/Blue is analogous to the latter Gold/Silver/Crystal, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and Pearl/Diamond/Platinum. Red and Green were the original two versions; then came Blue, which was an enhanced version with different monster graphics, an alternate Unknown Dungeon, a different Pokemon consist and other changes. The U.S. Red and Blue are the Japanese Red and Green, but with the enhancements that were made to Blue.
