Parents have a Plasma with component inputs, it supports up to 1080i, but no HDMI. My gaming TV however is a 21" CRT, best connection is SCART RGB.
No. There's one HDTV set in the house, a 32" Toshiba CRT 4:3 aspect. Funny enough, it's not even being used for high defintion. 800$ TV that might as well have been a 300$ TV. No over the air HDTV antenna or HD Satelite package. And no gaming. And the DVD player isn't even hooked up for progressive scan. What a waste. For my own gaming use I have a cheap 20" CRT that doesn't even have S-Video. Then I have my 17" LCD for my PC. If I got a 360 I'd probably want to get the VGA cable to use my PC monitor. HDTVs are so horribly expensive. Atleast any of the ones I'd want. Personally I'd like to get a 20" HD LCD. But ofcourse for some strange reason the fact that it's a HDTV and not a PC LCD it suddenly seems to cost 300$ more or something. Oh and I don't really have any clue what HDMI does. I saw some strange connectors on the back of that Toshiba but again it's not like I could use it for a PS3 anyway.
Because it has so much more built into the thing. If you want just an LCD get a dell with imputs like component and composite and dvi and vga and so on.
Have any idea what a 20" LCD with component as well as composite inputs and vga would cost then? I suppose I could always get a cheap VCR to use as a TV tuner.
Dell do a 24" with res of 1920x1200 (WUXGA) with 15-pin D-sub / DVI-D / S-video / Composite / Component / 4 x USB 2.0 from dell right now is $949.00. However dell always do some good deals so if u wait around u can grab a bargain im sure. Or take the 20.1" with composite and svideo and dvi and vga for $358.02. No component but you can always use a vga switch box for xbox and wii.
Me too. Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh on Sony not having HDMI on the cheaper model, almost no one can run it.
Umm not sure about america but its getting harder and harder to find LCD screens that do not have HDMI. (in the uk) Most of the better selling screens sony, toshiba, samsung all have HDMI.
