Mind you my ISP does this weird speed boost thing for the first X amount of MB. So actually speed is within 6 or 7 Mb of that
£60? Should be about half that unless you've got extra phone lines or something. What's the extra expense?
What kind of line is that? Mine: It seems so low, but I've never felt limited in whatever I wanted to do on the net.
Just out of interest I did the test just now on my laptop connected to the net via my iPhone running MyWi. Not too shabby for a 3G connection. I'm not even in a main softbank mobile area (Kita Kyushu). Back at home in Yamaguchi the downloads speed is about 2.5mbps. Yakumo
Do softbank not kick your balls for using tethering? Aren't you liable for a (J\(B30,000 charge? Or can't they tell?
Well, last months usage was just over one million yen! They can't tell that I'm tethering at all. I just say I surf the net on my phone every day for work. Which in a way is true because that's all I use the tethering for. I don't download anything just surf the net. Here's my home speed. It seems to alter though. Some days are much better than this. I wonder if the heavy rain can effect the speeds since most of Japans cables are above ground. Oh well, at least it's faster than 75% of Japan and the area it was pinging is 500 miles away. Yakumo
Last month's phone bill was 1M yen??? Okinawa only, as there's no server showing in Tokyo. Wireless N.
What I get at work. I hope to change the mind of my apartment owner so I could get 100/20M connection installed, which costs only few euros more than the shitty cable TV internet installed right now which gives me 1.5/0.1M
