NullDC or Makaron + fast enough CPU = HD bliss. Anyway I'd like also to see Yakuza being ported to 360. Not enough value in PS3 to warrant my getting one just yet. I was also going to propose the continuation of Sega Ages but since I despise download-only games (most likely the case) I'm against it. It would take too much courtesy for network providers to unlock their content after their shitty proprietary networks go offline.
Mortal Kombat I/III/UMKIII on the 32X or the N64. They could handle it easy. Closest I can get to a good UMKIII experience is the DS or the Saturn. Saturn is good, but I hate load times. And no TV out for the NDS sucks. MK II on the 32X is the best port of any MK game I have seen yet. And plus those 32X's need some love.
Where's my Lunatea's Veil wiimake/port? I like your opening sample. Outbreak actually also still has a pretty huge following. There's an amazing fansite for it too. I really would love to see an outbreak game built around the concept of digital distribution, where add-on content is a strong factor in the game's design/release/future plan. (Can't be that hard... they've got MT Framework up and running with proper multiplayer support already. Polishing the Outbreak assets and dumping 'em into Framework can't be that hard. I'd love to see it support 4 player split-screen too. Of course... everyone cried about the live inventory in Resident Evil 5... imagine how they'll bitch and moan in Outbreak with not just a live inventory, but also a 1/3 the size inventory!) Toss in XBLA and I'm right there with you. This game needs to jump through the Dreamcast port-o-tron... like... yesterday. For the sake of variety, I wish they'd throw in an "easy mode(?)" where you use the Future tagging system instead of the original's (I like the originals, but Future's system quickly grew on me too...) I came into this thread, ready to dump these 3 names... now they've all already been mentioned and there are already rumors about other RARE titles might getting the Banjo & Perfect Dark treatment... this thread is now complete. Developers/Publishers; take your notes! [edit] I lied... I need Phantasy Star Online ported to XBLA w/4 player split-screen like the Xbox/GC version. Now. Go away, Universe.
Wondermomo, Youkai Dochuki, Dragon Spirit - Megadrive All appear on the PC Engine, but would have loved them on the Megadrive. Rad Mobile - Mega CD According to a Japanese journalist I know, a lot of the design and basic code of the Saturn version was based on a half completed and scrapped Mega CD version. I think the scaling of the Mega CD could have made the game rather good. Why couldn't Sega have ported a few of their sprite scaling racers to the Mega CD? Batman showed it could have been done well. Daytona USA - Super 32X Okay it would have looked terrible but a mixture of 32X cartridge and a Mega CD compatable CD and it could have been quite a nice port and might have extended the 32Xs life. Super Monaco GP - Saturn One game I was hoping they would have released but they never did. It would have looked quite nice and been arcade perfect. Model 1 / Model 2 and Model 3 collections - Playstation 3 Would be nice if Sega Ages did release this on the Playstation 3 in Japan, as it would annoy Yakumo. A nice racing collection of Virtua Racing, Daytona USA, Scud Race, etc would be fantastic but will probably not happen.
If I could get Project Justice ported to Xbox Live Arcade, with Widescreen, Online play, and the original board game side game, I'd die a happy man. I'd also love to see the Sega CD version of Snatcher on the DS (stylus replacing the light gun sequences) and Jet Force Gemini given the "Perfect Dark" treatment.
You, sir, are a genius. I love you. If I were a lady, I'd say "make me yours". That being said, Anthaemia mentioned Planet Harriers, and I would love that to death as well. And I love arcade compilations, so Yakumo's idea would be seriously cool. But I had come here to say Snatcher on the DS, and Dreamcast fighters on XBLA, so there.
http://kotaku.com/5518186/sega-brings-two-more-arcade-hits-to-wii Well, it's a step in the right direction! Can we have Scud Race, Motor Raid or Top Skater next?
Another vote for Jet Set Radio on ANY system... why is there no love for this game, it's huge, it's incredibly easy to pick up and play, it's looks good, the soundtrack is nuts... Where is the love? Mores the point - why haven't we seen another Jet Set Radio game (or ports to newer systems) didn't they sell well?
Battle Isle 2 and/or 3 (BI 2200/2220 for US people, I think), one of the best turn based strategy titles in my opinion. I don't even care about the platform, though one with touch input would be a good fit. Would probably not be a -proper- port though - the graphics would need to be updated, since even the biggest maps are only around 620x940. And I don't think you could pull it off to reproduce the half-comic-half-realistic graphical style with higher res graphics, so it just wouldn't feel the same...
I'd love to see JSR on the current systems, or even a new one, but I thought it was obvious that no, they didn't sell well at all. In fact, I'm pretty sure every Sega game on the original Xbox bombed badly.
I don't know why Sega doesn't want to make money with Arcade Collections Packs. Daytona USA, Sega Super GT, Indy 500, Ferrari 355 and some other might have license issues, but what about Virtua Racing, Crazy Taxi, Emergence Call Ambulance, Virtual On, and many others ? And i wonder where is the Alex Kidd in Miracle World remake, that was promised for PS2 Sega Ages. With 2.5D games being succesfull (New Mario, LBP, new Sonic, ...), an 2.5D Alex Kidd game would be great.
One funny thing about Jet Set Radio is that the only game I can think of to compare it to is Prince of Persia (2008) (and I don't think it's a bad comparison if you sit back and think about it for a sec)
Dunno if licensing issues are really such a big deal. See: Sega Racing Classic. Unfortunately, I think everyone might be overestimating the popularity of a collection like that. Of course, even for Sega it was a monumentally retarded decision to release those terrible remakes in the Sega Ages line and not include the originals :banghead:
Well, weren't the earlier Sega Ages games handled by a third party? The last few releases were done by Sega themselves if I remember correctly, and are quite good (including multiple original versions and the like). Also, in response to the Jet Set Radio discussion, there was an effort to get another made for the Wii (which is actually a great platform choice for it IMHO). http://kotaku.com/5031795/what-jet-grind-radio-for-wii-might-have-looked-like
Earlier titles in the AGES 2500 range were developed by 3D AGES, but due to concerns about the overall quality of this series it was taken back under Sega's wing for later installments. My only disappointment is that we never got any Model 3 games such as Scud Race, Emergency Call Ambulance or a pixel-perfect Virtua Fighter 3, not to mention the many arcade classics on the Model 2 board still in need of a home, including Top Skater, Indy 500 and Motor Raid to name just a few. Also, does anyone know why NiGHTS, Virtua Cop and Sega Rally were released on the PlayStation 2 outside the AGES 2500 brand?
