Hello, well a about a year and a half ago I went to the flea market as usual and I found two N Gages, a QD and a standard model for ten bucks, so I bought them and took them home. However, all was not normal for when I opened up the battery covers on them, I discovered something very odd, take a look at the pics. This is a QD Model, and the interesting thing is that it says Proto and Property of Nokia, also the OS is slightly different compared to a standard N Gage. Now the weird thing about this N Gage (This is the standard model N Gage) is that it says made in Finland, while my other N Gages say made in China, it is property of Nokia, and the model number is XXXX So what do you guys think?
The FCC ID's are the same as retail. That means it should be exactly the same as hardware goes. However, the stickers on the FCC test unit are different from yours. I believe it's legit. But I'm too sleepy right now to do any further digging as to when it might have been made. Excellent find, my friend!!
Hi, seemoremacstuff! 1) QD is Just Demo Unit, nothing special, I have near 10 of 'em. 2) Classic is late proto, same as retail, also got two this units. Here U can see rare (except Demo Classic) N-Gage protos and dev's: http://cs11055.userapi.com/u44752718/154083810/z_6a6e9b7d.jpg http://cs11055.userapi.com/u44752718/154083810/z_ee87a24d.jpg http://cs11055.userapi.com/u44752718/154083810/z_fe16ac78.jpg http://cs11055.userapi.com/u44752718/154083810/z_747ff23e.jpg http://cs11055.userapi.com/u44752718/154083810/z_09a3802b.jpg http://cs11055.userapi.com/u44752718/154083810/z_4bffd555.jpg http://cs5876.userapi.com/u44752718/154083810/z_95557e60.jpg http://cs5876.userapi.com/u44752718/154083810/z_408b08c3.jpg http://cs301810.userapi.com/u44752718/154083810/z_e9383244.jpg http://cs301810.userapi.com/u44752718/154083810/z_97bc05dc.jpg http://cs301810.userapi.com/u44752718/154083810/z_8f776129.jpg http://cs301810.userapi.com/u44752718/154083810/z_b2bb96b7.jpg http://cs304704.userapi.com/u44752718/103786940/w_c8b449ed.jpg http://cs304704.userapi.com/u44752718/103786940/w_5042dd39.jpg http://cs304704.userapi.com/u44752718/103786940/w_38caeca9.jpg http://cs304704.userapi.com/u44752718/103786940/w_e30a6d50.jpg http://cs304704.userapi.com/u44752718/103786940/w_74114654.jpg One more unusual NFR NGE: http://cs403921.userapi.com/v403921718/193a/H_stWwdt8m4.jpg http://cs403921.userapi.com/v403921718/1944/gha2yxn3Ops.jpg http://cs403921.userapi.com/v403921718/194e/krisoidETLw.jpg
As an aside, most Nokia phones on the market in Europe (at least until the mid 2000s) were marked 'Made in Finland'. I don't know whether that is the case post-slimdown in the last few years.
