Saw this on a brazilian message board and thought it was interesting to post it here.

Even if it's just a concept, mockup,... whatever. Just posted it to make a topic about it. This year E3 will probably have the 3 companies showing their new stuff.

 

I'm pretty sure it isnt sony's design..probally the ps3 will look like some other atari never released prototype

 

:-D More than likely :-D They need to redesign that PS2 logo though. It looks so dull and the PlayStation mark is looking pretty dated these days too. It's time to get original with a whole new look and name but you know they won't do that because then they'll lose the attention of 2 brain cells casual gamer who can't understand that XXXXXX by Sony is the follow up to the PS2 because it isn't called PS3. Still they will finally fall victim to themselves if they keep calling their consoles numbers because the 2 brain cell casual gamer can't count past 5 :ayashi

I went to a market research thing (paid £40) for two hours to talk about the sony and playstation brand. We were told they were doing this around 6 other countries and bla bla. So expect sony to be doing something new with the playstation lable as it knows its standing in the shit against other brand names like apple.

No dissing here Just joking but seriously they need a new image and name. After seeing the PlayStation Logo apear before EVERY TV add they have had for the last 8 years or so is really starting to get annoying.

But seriously IMHO they are starting to become a bit blase about things, that they rule the roost so to speak. PS1-PS2....what odds on PS3 being the next one? I wonder if anyone is taking odds.

The delay`s in the PSP and lack of units.....PSX was a bit of a non starter really.

X-Box probably getting a head start on the next gen

DS out and selling pretty well in virtually all countries.

I have never been a Sony fanboy for consoles, other electrical items yes.

Or at least a really cute small console - dreamcast style, but smaller and cuter.

That concept design is fugly - looks kinda like a Saturn gone wrong.

Sony seem to like keeping the same brand names forever. Actually, they seem to have a thing for brand names in general - pretty much every product line they have goes under some brand name or other! Look:

Alarm clocks - Dream Machine
Camcorders - Handycam
Digital still cameras - Cybershot
IBM-type PCs - Vaio
MSXs - Hit Bit
Personal audio device thingys - Walkman
Aperture grille CRTs - Trinitron
8mm video tapes - Video8
Stuff they make to be confusing and to annoy the DVD Forum - SACD and DVD+RW... ok they're not really brand names

As of late I am wondering if the PSP is gone to be nothing but a big paper weight for Sony. Im seeing a lot of people who have them and unloading them cheap as hell, just the other day one in mint condition with 4 games being traded for a PS2 with GT4.

 

well apparantly xbox fanboys are the same way since MS is rumored to be thinking of using Xbox 360 just for the fact it has 3 in it to match the ps3. WTF. Call the fucking system xbox 2 or come up with another name...xbox360 sounds so horrible.

 

To be a fanboy you have to support one platform, nobody here is doing that. As Virtual Alan says, diss everything (that deserves it).

I also agree with Yakumo about the PS2 - PS3 logo, although i think the original PS logo is cool.

 

Xbox 2 should be called "Xbox X-treme" that'll hit home with about 90% of American fans

 

Kotaku has some ps3 pics of their own. Why are all the possible versions of the ps3 ugly? ewww.
