Hi all, As many of you know, Virtua Cop 3 (SEGA Chihiro arcade exclusive) plays really quite well on a 128mb modded Xbox. Problem is, it has an 'ES MODE' / bullet-time trigger that you need to play properly. In the arcade, this a either a foot pedal or button on the gun. In the version that's available online, it's mapped to either the White or Black button. Using an EMS TopGun III, you can have a pretty great arcade-like experience on an LCD screen, but there's no mapping to the button needed for ES Mode. I've got two questions in my quest for a perfect play thorough of this awesome game: 1) Could this somehow be achieved via something like a 'CronusMAX', which is traditionally used to allow keyboard and mouse setups to be played on PS4/Xbox One, but can also be used to play PS3 fight sticks on PS4 etc... Would plugging the EMS TopGun III and potentially a second regular xbox pad into other USB port(with converter) be able to let them work as one? 2) is there another, better, way to add support for the Black/White buttons while using the EMS TopGun III. A ROM hack, or something else? Does anyone have the brain and experience that I'm lacking to help get this up and running? Thanks!
Can you remap the buttons in mameox? Should be possible. https://github.com/joolswills/mameox/blob/master/MAME/docs/ctrlr.txt
Doesnt use MAME so it cant be remapped. I would think there would be a way of hacking the game directly though.
Left Shoulder on the Gun? I don't remember it having one, but did try ALL the buttons on it with both holds and presses!
If this is something you could do, I'd be happy to some bitcoin to fund a celebratory pint or two! ^_^
Does the PC app/driver re-program the button functions on the gun/controller. Or, does is it just work to set the button mappings for games played on the PC. What's the C (trigger 2) button do on the grip?
EMS Top Guns buttons aren't reprogramable in Windows to work differently when conected to the consoles. I have a couple of Top Guns 2 (wired ones) and I remember there's a miniplug connector next to the PS2/Xbox switch. Is there something like that on the Top Guns 3? I think it might be for foot pedals but haven't tried them.
