I originally had the normal edition with the John Cooper download code on order at 16% off at Amazon but once I found out that they had the limited edition back in stock I just had to have it. I bloody hope the Top Gear book isn't translated in to Japanese

For me the le version has limited appeal, but the top gear articles are nice touch. I am glad they got full involvement with top gear even including some challenges from the series as well as narration from clarkson and the test track. Better than the sad effort sony did with the top gear test track in gt5.

 

Tell me about it. The Top Gear "gimick" in GT5 is poor. Rolling start on the test track???? We don't know how Forza 4 plays yet but from looks it's shaping up to be the ultimate racer. As long as it plays like 3 but with better AI, we are in for one serious good racer.

I'm sure the Top gear content in forza 4 will be great unlike GT5 and from what i've seen of it so far it does look good.

Not convinced on Kinect for controls in the game as i think the joypad works fine in forza 3 and you can get any of the 360 wheels or that sweet looking new Fantec wheel that's coming out.

 

Yep. Kazunori and everybody at PD should be ashamed of that. It's the worst license use EVER!

The track has the cameras on the wrong places, there's no reasonably priced car ( Suzuki Liana, Chevrolet Lacetti or Kia Cee'd) and to make things even worse the "challenges" uses VW Vans and the VW Kubelwagens. It's that pathetic! It seems like no one at PD ever saw one single Top Gear episode.

GT5 is a good sim, i love playing it online (specially on night races) and the seasonal events, but the whole career gets boring really quickly. GT4 was a true masterpiece, it's unbelievable it took them so long to release GT5 like that.

As for Forza 4, i really hope Turn10 makes a brilliant game and finally give some reason for Kazunori and PD to wake up and hire more people. More 3D modelers, more programmers and more talented game designers. They have to work faster, better and have better game design ideas.

 

Bought Deus EX in mint condition from Hard Off today. It's the PAL version but for some reason has the PEGI rating on the cover and not for sale in the UK written on the back although the address for distribution is based in the UK and the disc has the UK Film Board ratings on it but no PEGI rating. Stranger still, the cover rating is 18 while on the disc it's a 15.

Got gears of war 3 at the microsoft store launch. Got two nice little microsoft baggies with it as well as a shirt and dog tags and poster.

Battle Tanx GA arrived today, in proper packaging and not crushed. There are smart sellers out there people!

 

Bought a Tekken 3 PCB today, which was on my list for quite some time. Not only is it one of the best in the series, I have very fond memories playing it when I was a child. Good price, too.

 

Company of Heroes Complete Pack (inc. Opposing Fronts & Tales of Valor expansions) @ £5.39 in the Steam Weekend Deal.

EDIT: As I have a 700 mile trip from Sunday to Wednesday I just bought the PSP Essentials Lemmings @ £6.99 from the PlayStation Network Store to help pass the time.

More 360 stuff for me the other day. The Asian version of Dead Island. Fully in English and out before the Japanese version and cheaper. makes you wonder why Amazon bother selling Japanese versions of games that come out in Asia first.

They really should just sell the Asian version if they have that out first and cheaper because a lot of people will just buy that over the jp one, i know i would.

I had just started Dead Island before my PC broke and was really liking it so far anyway.

 

I think japan views the asian version as a cheap (budget) copy. Plus I would imagine a game in full english is a turn off to them.

 

Picked up Skate on the 360 along with WipEout Fusion and Sonic Mega Collection Plus on the PS2.

 

Got a limited edition halo 3 360 in absolute mint state.
Came boxed with the manuals still sealed and every bag and bit in mint state.

Latest PC-Engine arrivals. This should cover all the expensive HuCard-shooters except for 2x Magical Chase and Darius Alpha.
All games are mint with spine-cards (not suntan of course) and most of them also came with reg-cards.

I now have all versions of one of my favourite shooters of all time, Tatsujin: Arcade-PCB (JPN), MD (JPN) & PCE (JPN). Still need the soundtrack CD and maybe some other bits. I know there is a superplay Laserdisc including replays of Tatsujin, Hishouzame and Kyuukyoku Tiger, but that one is almost impossible to find! I have a rip of it on my HDD though, really cool stuff.

That said, that "surprise copy" of Riglord Saga is a perfect coincidence: I'm sort-of replacing my PAL games with Japanese versions, one at a time. And what's the one PAL game I have that never worked right, because it's scratched to hell and back? Mystaria: The Realms of Lore, the PAL version of Riglord Saga.
