Guilty Gear XX Slash Midnight Carnival, Twinkle Star, Reiselied, simple series vol. 105: The Maid Fuku to Kikanjuu & 2 CD's by Ken Ishii

I found a Book Off in Vancouver Downtown! Who would have thought there is one??? I've heard stories about Book Off outside of Japan, but I never quite believed in them. Now I've been in one of those stores and... wow... it's like I'm in Japan! Even the employees didn't understand me so I could test my humble Japanese.

Me: "Do all those games come with manuals?"
    Cashier: "...... man...u...???"
    Me: "そのゲームは全部で説明書付きですか。"
    Cashier: "あぁ、はい、そうですね。"

And all that stuff is like new and cost me only $26 incl. tax. (Twinkle Star Sprites was only $9 o_O).

Bought a box of the second series of Kamen Rider AR Carddass cards for iPhone/iPod Touch before they even hit the stores :) Well, at least before they hit the stores down here.

I'll be going halfs on these with my son, or more like paying all (of course) and giving him half of the packs. He loves Kamen Rider and Super Sentai stuff.

And just so stress this one more time, I love how they translated AnEarth Fantasy Stories into Katakana.

I know I've mentioned this a couple of times already, but I still have to laugh every time I see it. I actually bought the game just because of that.

How the hel did they get that sound from An Earth??? It should have been アン アース. I really do hate Katakana.

Picked up two new 360 games today. Shadow of the Damned.

I quite like the disc. It's a shame it's not in colour though.

And Daytona USA. Who in their right mind would pass on this?! Only 800 points.

Yeah, I had a few hours on it. It's pretty funny if you like innuendo and the voice acting (English or Japanese) is excellent. I play it in English though since Japanese as a language just doesn't have the humour that you can pull off with English. There's also an awful lot of "WTF was Suda 51 smoking" when this game was designed. There's some seriously messed up shit in this game, that's for sure.

The game feels a bit odd though in the control department. I mean, it controls fine but doesn't seem right. Also, the aiming is too loose IMO and there's no auto lock-on either. Graphically it's quite nice. Played at a good volume in the dark will really enhance the experience I'd say.

I did find a glitch on my very first game though. The zombie demon things should have jumped through the 2nd floor window to attack me but they just stayed outside. This meant I couldn't kill them to progress through the level. I had to reset and start the stage again :dammit:

Are you feeling alright Yakumo? You have been buying Japanese Xbox 360 games rather then Asian ones. Although you are one of the few thousand people in Japan that probably do.

Noticed you've got a 'Zoom' add-on on your Kinect (the thingy that helps you play in smaller rooms)? Does it work well?

hehe, yeah, it's quite rare for me to buy a Japanese 360 game when it's released in Asia but Shadows of the Damned and Forza 4 were both pretty cheap. Still a little more than the Asian versions but only slightly. God bless you, Amazon

It works perfectly for everything I've tried it with apart from Michael Jackson Experience. On that game you need to stand within an onscreen box but because of the Zoom you actually stand outside of the box. It takes a few tries before you find a suitable position to stand in. Also, it makes camera shots a little fish eyed and the inferred image (in the corner of the 360 dashboard) has a lot of black fuzz around it but it doesn't effect gameplay. Overall it's a very handy bit of kit.
