Blazing Star @ £1.99 from the Google Play / Android app store.

This is actually my first software purchase for my phone. I wanted a cheapish game just to try it out. I played a few games on my cousins xperia play but I wanted to know how it would feel with touchscreen only.

EDIT 1: The controls are incredibly sluggish. May be an issue with my phone or this game. I guess time to shop for another and see.

Metal Slug 3 @ £4.99 from the Google Play / Android app store.

EDIT 2: Even with Metal Slug 3 the controls are incredibly sluggish. Running out of money and patience but maybe 3rd time lucky.

ChuChu Rocket! @ £0.90 from the Google Play / Android app Store

EDIT 3: ChuChu Rocket! plays a lot better with a touchscreen than the other games I've tried thus far, but that may be due to the nature of the game where it gives you time to plan your next move etc. Time to try another game methinks to see if I just got lucky.

Sonic CD @ £3.84 from the Google Play / Android app store. I was a little reluctant to buy this given as I own it on Steam too but when I'm on my PC I tend to play PC games so meh =/

EDIT 4: Meh Sonic CD... it seems easy to spindash left but not right. Also the controls can be a little unresponsive. On the whole I'm not really sold on touchscreen ports of classic games =/

Won a bid for a boxed Jaguar, with Cybermorph and Tempest 2000, came to just under £60 including shipping. As an added bonus, when I opened it up, found out it was an NTSC unit with preinstalled RGB mod!

I bought a few new 360 games from Amazon Japan since they were all 1500 yen each brand new. I'm really liking Binary Domain (finished it on easy and normal so far) and Alien VS Predator is good too even though it was given poor reviews. Just going through the Predator's missions now having completed the marine missions. I've not played Raccoon City yet but I bet that's not going to be as bad as the reviews said as well, or is it? I've also got a new Final Fantasy XII in the post too. Ah, I really do love Amazon for game shopping.

The cool thing about Raccoon City is that it has a reversible cover :) So now I can have it saying Bio Hazard just like all my other 360 Bio Hazard games.

People usually post here when they bought something and show picture of it when it arrives.

As brazil's custom is terrible, I bought this almost a month ago from yahoo auctions japan.
So I'm posting a picture now when it arrived:

They were bad because Rbellion botched the balance an control of the game. Play the original AvP PC game from 2000, compare it to the current iteration, and tell me ow much potential they wasted.

I still enjoy it, though. :)

T-3102M The King of Fighters '99 Evolution by SNK for Sega Dreamcast

The first of many items I'm expecting to receive from Japan over the coming months arrived today.

What arrived, I hear you ask?

Well it is my T-3102M The King of Fighters '99 Evolution by SNK for the Sega Dreamcast. It came with the spinecard / obi and Dream Point Bank voucher but sadly no SNK product registration card, but in fairness to the seller it was never stated as included anyway. I'll probably buy another copy, albeit sealed then open it up to make sure it is complete and put it to good use - after all a sealed games collection is a pointless collection.

    Why this particular game?

You could argue the recent Neo Geo dramas forced my hand and in a way they did - although I've never owned an SNK AES or MVS system, I have used them and played their games on other platforms over the years, sometimes without even realising it. In fact one of the first games I used to play in an arcade as a kid was Metal Slug and as a teen I was kicking ass on Capcom vs SNK 2 EO via Xbox Live. The Neo Geo dramas only reminded me what I've been missing and given as I've bought over 200 interesting games on Steam their current sales no longer have any meaning to me, I've pull my fingered out and got on with the show.

The main reason I bought this is because I'm expecting to receive am SNK Neo Geo Pocket Color to Sega Dreamcast link cable shortly and I wanted a game to test the cross platform link feature. As a Sega Dreamcast lover, experimenting with the cross platform link has always been on my to do list, but given the rarity and high price of the SNK NEOP22020 cable I never got around to it, however I recently managed to purchase one cheaply.

    Issues

My main gripe thus far is that whilst the disc is immaculate, my Japanese Dreamcast seems to hate it. At first the game refused to boot, then I retried and it loaded and I could play the game. After defeating the first enemy on single player, the game crashed upon loading the next level. Anyway it shouldnt really come as a surprise given as I sent so many Dreamcasts to an early grave but as this is my first and only Japanese Dreamcast I've tried to take good care of it, but it had a hard life before it even came to me. The Dreamcast originally came all beat up with a broken lid and blown PSU, where someone had obviously plugged it into a 240v UK mains without noticing it is a 110v system. Fortunately it was a relatively simple procedure to take the 240v PSU from one of the many EU Dreamcasts I had slain in the past and transplant it into my Japanese system - no stepdown transformer needed yay! After a good clean of my Dreamcast laser all seems well but the system could really do with a good clean inside and out as well.

    The Game

The game is basically a port from SNK's Neo Geo MVS / AES platform which has been around in one form or another since the MegaDrive and SNES were competing with each for the console crown. To SNK's credit, I've never seen the psuedo 3D backgrounds look anywhere near as good on any other platform of the era and there are plenty of PlayStation and Saturn games which look far worse. I guess this is a testament to the fact that the Neo Geo was in many ways ahead of its time however The King of Fighters '99 Evolution looks quite dated, even by the standards of the day.

Back in 1998 I was laying in a hospital bed with a broken pelvis playing the Tekken 3 Limited Edition demo whilst looking forwards to my preorder coming through when I would have been discharged and sent home. In 1999 I was at Blackpool Pleasure Beach plugging away on Soul Calibur, which I regard as one of, if not the best fighting games I have ever played. Both of them are vastly superior, graphically at least, to The King of Fighters '99 Evolution and they are good fun to play too - especially with a friend!

Anyhow enough babbling. I'm looking forwards to syncing this bad boy in due course!
