Another thrift store massacre. I'm not 100% on the value of these so any insight would be great. All of them are sealed. There is one Seaquest cart open but the rest have the SEGA sticker still intact. Were Mega Drive Carts sealed in plastic too or did they just have the sticker?:

I don't recall Mega Drive boxes being wrapped, especially in the blue case era. I think it's a good sign that the SEGA labels are intact that they are sealed.

I got a PSone dev External CD Rom for £0.99/$1.56 boxed... but it cost £20/$31.44 to ship :(

In a way I'm glad I won, but I only bidded because the shipping would have been combined with another item which got sniped on =/

    Just won a set of psx 2k dev boards for £15 ($23.58) + shipping @ £10 ($15.72).

They wernt in the eBay thread or gamesniped and it is just as well it had no other bids as I put the last of my food money as my max bid lol.

    Seller typos FTW!

This one wasn't within the past week or so, in fact, it was about two or three weeks ago, but it is indeed quite recent and fresh in my mind...

About 4 weeks ago, I was sitting at my desk, in front of my laptop, as I normally do at night (as a matter of fact, that's what I'm doing right now). I go into their Buy & Sell forum, again, as I'd do any other night. This night was a bit different...it was cold outside, and there was still snow on the ground from the snowstorm a few days earlier...I'd found some pretty interesting stuff in November and December, and I'd begun to wonder if I'd find something good this month to continue the trend...

As it turns out, this fellow over at Digital Press posted up a lot of 36 random alpha/beta/preview/review game discs... It was as random as a random lot could get, with everything from Wii shovelware to some pretty decent titles (Resident Evil 5 or Street Fighter 4, anyone?). Now I'd dealt with this fellow before...I picked up 9 protos from him previously, including a Mega Man 9 PS3 proto (and you can bet your collection...I got a deal on it, such that I was able to pass it along at a reasonable price to another collector). So for the sheer heck of it, I send the guy a message... "Regarding the proto lot... Out of curiosity...how much for all 36?" He comes back a day or two later, "How 'bout an even hundred for all 36? I also have an original Xbox debug and PS2 debug if you're interested." I was completely floored. I told him I'd gladly take the protos for the hundred, and depending on the prices and condition, I'd also take both the PS2 and the Xbox debug units. He said neither unit came with a controller, and the Xbox didn't come with an AV cable, but both had power cords, and the PS2 had its AV cable. Also, he stated the PS2 was tested and working, but the Xbox he wasn't able to test without a controller or video cable. His prices? "$50 for the Xbox and $125 for the PS2. I'll take care of shipping via FedEx Ground to a US address." I told him I'd take them both, just tell me where to send the PayPal. Turns out, along with his PayPal address, he came out with something else interesting..."I found another 9 PS2 discs packed away with the PS2 console. If you'd like them too, I'd throw them in for another $25. I added pics of them and the two consoles here: (Photobucket link snipped)."

So I sent him the PayPal, $300 total, and a few days later, he shipped. I received them on the 29th...and they were everything I envisioned them to be (and more: extra protos of the same title were in the case alongside two of the games). The complete list:

    Wii:

Major Minor's Majestic March (review, in the most unusual case I've ever seen)
    Our House Party (preview)
Ready 2 Rumble Revolution (dated 1-23-09)
Ready 2 Rumble Revolution (dated 1-29-09)
Shaun White Snowboarding World Stage (says "Bolt 2009" on it...what does that mean?)
    Ski-Doo Snowmobile Challenge (preview)
    Spyborgs (preview, dated 6-30-09)
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars (dated 11-17-09)
World of Zoo Animal Creator Demo (test build, dated 9-1-09)

    PS2:

    Arcana Heart (preview)
Backyard Football 2008 (review, dated 8-20-07)
    Dirge of Cerberus (review)
    Dynasty Warriors 6 (preview/review)
Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 (single player preview; let it be known that until I saw this, I had no idea this game came out for the PS2)
    Kingdom Hearts 2 (preview)
Naked Brothers Band (test build, dated 7-8-08)
    Red Ninja (review, dated 1-10-05)
The Sims 2 (alpha, dated 8-14-05)
TimeSplitters: Future Perfect (alpha/review, dated 1-18-05)
    Turok (preview?)
WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 (preview, dated 9-11-07)

Biohazard 5 (Resident Evil 5, preview, dated 11-29-08)
    BlazBlue (dated 1-26-09, on DVD-R)
BlazBlue (undated, on BD-R) <--this and the dated copy were in the same case together
    Borderlands (preview)
    Killzone 2 (test sample)
    King of Fighters 12 (beta)
    Singstar Queen (review)
    Street Fighter IV (dated 10-30-08)
    Tekken 6 (review, dated 10-19-09)
Virtua Fighter 5 (preview, dated 1-4-07)
Virtua Tennis 3 (review, dated 1-31-07)
Wanted: Weapons of Fate (press demo)

    Xbox 360:

    Battlefield 2: Bad Company (alpha/review)
Biohazard 5 (Resident Evil 5, preview, dated 11-29-08)
    BlazBlue
    Borderlands (preview)
    DJ Hero (demo)
    Ghostbusters (release candidate)
    King of Fighters 12 (beta)
Lost Planet 2 (review, dated 3-11-10)
    Saw (preview)
    Velvet Assassin (dated 2-1-09)

    Oddities and miscellany:

Undead Knights (PSP, review, on CD-R)
    Street Fighter IV (PC)
    Onslaught (WiiWare (!), review, undated)
Onslaught (WiiWare, review, dated 2-14-09) <--this and the undated copy were in the same case together, a la BlazBlue

Awesome deal mb7241 though it sounds like either they got them for free as a work related bonus or were in hard times, it would explain why they wouldn't care how much they got so long as they got something :p

I'm surprised you managed to find anything there though, they have a lot of cool stuff (mostly NTSC cart based games IMO) but the posts get bumped off so frequently and they have wtb posts mixed in with wts it can quickly get ugly :p Finding them there was a noble challenge in itself!

Also welcome to the forum :)

In my experience game journalists tend to think that preview/review discs are basically worthless junk. Who wants buggy versions of games, right? They have no idea that the a-list titles can be worth hundreds.

That's a hell of a haul for the price, anyway.
