I think I'm finally satisified with an operating system. This is "eeeBuntu" (Ubuntu with the Eee script pack preinstalled). Ironically enough it has a faster boot time than Puppy Linux, although Puppy is quicker once it's started. Puppy is also pretty hard to install anything to unless you're a seasoned Linux user, and I'm not quite there yet. I might throw IceWM up here sometime to take some weight off of the system, but for right now this is working great.
I haven't got my system monitor configured exactly the way I want it just yet (displays some erroneous networking data), but everything else is peachy. I'm waiting for Kubuntu 8.04 to come out (mainly for KDE 4) so I can start using it on my desktop.
Hah thanks . It turns out that the network devices displayed are actually both useful, I just didn't think about it at the time. The one that is messed up in the pic above is for my ethernet jack, and I figured that I only needed the wireless. All fixed now, though.
Its been raining, and crappy outside today, so not much to do..... THE ULTIMATE END ALL, BETTER THAN PHREQUENCYVIII AND A RABBIT COMBINED, DESKTOP BACKGROUND Ryan
Woah, thats pretty snazzy. And way better then me! My laptop....stuck on it because my fucking computer morphed into a POS. Fucked up memory, motherboard, or power supply...or something. I don't care. Constant BSOD and shutdowns on any fucking OS ever isn't good.
Dang. The first few pages of this thread remind me of how much I deleted crap from my photobucket account!
Well, XP completely stopped working so my only choice was switching to Vista (for reasons I can't understand it works a lot better even when I don't reach the minimum requirements)
Ubuntu on my desktop. I still have Windows but this is primarily what I use now. I love Compiz Fusion.
