I have a black one now, the old MS one finally gave up the ghost.
If MS does one thing well, it's ther peripherals.

The case it a silent PC setup, so it might not look as good, but it has
a giant slow fan on the side and front. I get less than 8db out of a
overclocked system. Silence is worth it's weight in gold sometimes.

    Oh i feel ya.

I have one almost as silent, but solid black and inconspicuous, like a black monolith with small LED and temp readout built into the case. It only has two 120mm fans and still keeps it pretty cool.

But yeh, MS makes good peripherals. Had the same keyboard you used to have, but the stand on it broke. Switched to a small one and like this as it takes up much less space.

Yup. Antec desktop HTPC case here. Stock cooling and I can only hear a whisper (literally) when my vents stop (which is never). The loudest part of my system is a 2.5" external HDD.

During the cold (west coast) Canadian winters the CPU fan doesn't even come on out of standby mode. It's that cool.

Tell me about it: I've one of those natural keyboards from the days of WinME, and the thing is still working perfectly with no locked keys nor blurred symbols.

That's how mine is, the cube has a 120mm Nexus and Zalman sinks, really small and quiet. And see through, and it glows, but I love disco's in a box, and it's turn off-able.
