So, I know at least a few people here collect posters, so I thought we should have a thread dedicated to it. I'm posting it in Off Topic because I thought it would be cool to have not only videogame posters, but other kinds of posters as well. Please share yours as well! I'm not exactly a collector, but I have quite a few. Most of them I either got for free or they were included with other items. Here are some of mine: I got this one from Club Nintendo. It came with 2 other posters, which I still have somewhere. I think it's pretty cool. This one was included with the Genesis version of Earthworm Jim. This is one my dad gave me. It glows in the dark. I got this one for free at the IMAX showing of Star Trek: Into Darkness. Pretty good movie I think, contrary to what some critics might say. I got this at the Shins concert in Albuquerque, NM (which is their hometown, btw) in 2007? I think. Great show. Another poster I got for free at the showing of Prometheus. This one came with the Special Edition Blu-ray of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. This one was included with the Japanese Saturn version of Last Bronx. So, please share your posters! I'm sure people have some really cool/rare ones.
These are the posters I just hung the other week The apartment is a bit crooked, which meant the posters are even more crooked looking hah. They really arent that bad now
I made a poster of Akira (1988 anime) by myself. I always thought this is one of the best backgrounds of the entire movie, so I decided to take screenshots from the 1080p BluRay-version, combine them and turn it into a poster. This is a unique custom effort, but it's still one of my favorites. I plan to print it in B2 or larger when I move into my own flat someday. I printed a custom-made Gradius II-poster. My source was the X68000 cover. It's not exactly big (similar to a VHS cover), but it's the largest version of the artwork without text (arcade poster and all flyers have text all over it...). A friendly member (MagicKnight) scanned it, then it was polished and enhanced (thx Jenkins!). I printed it on high quality paper for $35 at the time. The quality is absolutely stunning and I still have it... just need to put it up again someday: size = A2 Sorry for the warm color, of course it isn't this yellow in reality. Funny background story: MagicKnight scanned his Gradius II-copy for me so I can make the poster because I didn't have the X68k game at the time. A year later I bought the exact same copy from him... poster & scanned game reunited after 1 year ^^
