Looking back, I think the Video Game Crash is misleading. Even though consoles went dead or a while, the 8 bit computers filled or actually took over video gaming during the crash. Maybe the early computers (most of which do have game cart slots) contributed to the game console crash?

As mentioned the market now is so huge for PC and console gaming. Maybe there might be drops and spikes in game sales, but certainly no crash other then individual publishers going under or being bought out.

I doubt there will be a crash similar to the one that already happened. There are serious problems with the gaming industry and we all know what they are. If it comes to a point where everyone just says ENOUGH with this nonsense then maybe. If anything, it seems the real problem is now in the secondary market with all these pop-up collectors and the flippers/scalpers who are driving prices up. That isn't sustainable because the value is overinflated.

Was about to say that. I work in a retail setting where a lot of Canadians shop. One recently was complaining about how the exchange rate difference went from 2¢ to like 30¢.

It's not gonna crash like in the 1980s. Back then it was adult parents buying games for their kids. It's now adults buying for themselves. Unless mobile gaming somehow moves a lightspeed beyond being microtransactions, not much is going to change. The hardware gap between smartphones/tablets and the current systems isn't that big, so we know the tech is there.
