http://kotaku.com/super-rare-arcade-game-now-playable-like-its-no-big-dea-1594684035 Damn since I heard about this I always ant to play it, now the galloping ghost arcade have one. I hope this proto will be dump to keep it archive before anything happen to the board.
Primal rage was a strange, STRANGE GAME. The Hero of the game eats all of humanity in his ending DA FUQ? Nice to see the Sequel up the weirdness.
A one of a kind arcade machine with no rom dumped and they are putting out to play for daily use? Thats pretty brave. Someone could literally open that cabinet and within a few minutes steal the board for their own private collection. Sigh.
You just beat me to it! Still technically a release since it's being released to play in an arcade. From what I've read the game has already been dumped, just not released to the public. I'm just glad it's out there, it would be great if anyone living in Illinois can visit the Galloping Ghost Arcade and post some information about it.
Ugh, I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddddddddddddddd to go there. Too bad they don't have a Space Harrier unit yet. Maybe sometime in July I'll go out there.
It's a sin how many arcades don't have a Space Harrier. I don't think TNT Amusments has ever fixed one up I've never seen a video of them doing one. A shame becuase Space Harrier is my shit.
That's interesting, but the video of the gameplay is confusing. It looks like all of the characters are human. How can it be a "Primal Rage" game if it doesn't have any dinosaurs or monsters? That's pretty much the entire premise of the game.
Really? Check out the Twitch archive on that page. Gameplay starts a 4:30 or so, and has a dinosaur pretty quickly.
Oh okay. I hadn't watched that one. I just watched the one above that, and it apparently doesn't show any dinosaurs. I didn't watch the whole thing though - I just skipped around a little. So yeah, you're right.
Atari in their infinite wisdom didn't think people could relate to Dinos. The original cast is hidden though pressing up on the select screen has the original dinos, in dino form.
I know, looking at the (likely incomplete) list , the closest one to Chicago is in freaking Ohio. I like to get my Space Harrier on, but I'm not going to Cedar Point just for that. Because why play as awesome dinosaurs when you can play yet another fighting game starring boring humans?
There is an arcade perfect version on the Sonic Genesis collection (Ultimate Mega Drive Collection in Europe) but I assume you just want to play it in an arcade. Primal rage did kind of creep me out, Especally Souron's ending but it was unique and when my mom and I were watching some TNT Amusement videos, my mom actually thought the game looked cool. bear in mind my mom has ZERO interest in video games. If the first Primal Rage got her attention they may have been on to something.
Oh I know, I played Super Thunderblade (or whatever it was called) just to unlock it. I also have the 32X and 3DS versions, hell I even did a video review of the 3DS one (plug plug plug plug). I'd just like to play it on a real arcade unit. Eh, dinosaurs at least made it a better MK ripoff than Pit Fighter, or *snickers* Kasumi Ninja.
I still remember the day I first saw some screenshots from the arcade game, and how excited I was that to the idea of purchasing it at some point for a console. One damned day I read that it was cancelled, so naturally I thought I will never see it in action. It seems that some lovely people have try and done otherwise, hopefully it will be fully compatible in the near future, so the little guy I used to be will have the opportunity to enjoy the game like I hoped to!
I'm not sure if I've ever actually seen a Space Harrier cab. I have played Planet Harriers in an arcade once, I can't remember where. The Saturn and DC versions (the DC version is included in Shenmue) are more or less arcade perfect. Not sure about the DC version, but the Saturn version doesn't use emulation - they rebuilt the game for the Saturn, and it looks and plays just like the arcade version. I prefer the Saturn version mainly because it's a separate game unlike the DC version, and also because it's more convenient because of the way my equipment is set up.
They have the game on the floor like the rest of the their games. If any of you guys live out in the midwest of the U.S. or are planning on taking a trip to Chicago or something, I highly recommend going to Galloping Ghost. But, yeah Primal Rage 2 is pretty fun. It plays more like Street Fighter and is a better game than the first.
