That is absolutely amazing. It's almost hard to believe that just one guy is making this. Great work. Can't wait for another update!
I'm actually alone in this project, I've got 2 hired programmers helping out a bit, yes paid programmers. ( and they aren't cheap!) My job is to plan, direct, and handle all art assets.
I've been following this project a while and can't wait for it to be playable. Keep up the great work!!!
You and your team are doing fantastic work. As someone who was waiting in anticipation for Sonic X-Treme only to have it never materialize, I never thought I'd see something like this. What plans do you have for enemies? The official beta footage didn't seem to have much in the way of that so I'm curious as to how you plan to incorporate them in your version.
Hahaha! My 2nd post in this forum! Well OMG, you hav done some amazing stuff bro! I can imagine when u guys get so far that playing Sonic Xtreme alpha snapshoots is going to be a popular thing and people would be able to edit the stages and create their won levels! WIth some awesome hardcore parcore sonic stuff you can just think about I just cant weit to see something like that happen! XD Well trully amazing job there andrew! Continue!
Thanks! and yeah Please keep in mind that AXSX is a separate project than the Sonic X-treme port/restoration project that JollyRoger is heading. And Since I havnt updated this topic in like forever... A quick gif for the hand rebuilt E3 Jade Gully running in AXSX. Custom test level! Here's a water concept test... ( Low FPS because level geo has not been condensed yet) Building levels in Project AXSX has never been easier! Just select the cube you want to clone and ALT + Drag it to clone. You don't even need to worry about UV mapping as its handled automatically by AXSX's custom Auto-UVmapping shader for use with textures that span multiple blocks! Loops?!.... Check! 2 types of loop... first one is locked to a path...and feels like the classic 2D sonic game loops. or could feel like adventure. (it depends on how one sets it up) Have you ever wanted to run freely on Loops in a Sonic game ? Well Now here is your chance ! Check out type 2 with yes! 2 gifs!!! OMFG Yes ! What's wrong Sonic? no pre defined paths? Are you Baffled ?! You know what to do Next right?! Yes that's right ! !! Easy as pie !
I'm really liking the look of this project. More so than the real Sonic Xtreme PC port. Now a Saturn port of the real Sonic Xtreme is on a different level though
I was looking forward to some kind of update! This looks amazing, Andrew. Awesome work. I can't wait to finally give it a shot.
