For all of you that still have a PS3 fat, I made a guide on my greek blog (its in Greek Unfortunately), explaining how to remove scratches from the exterior shell of the PS3

    https://www.sumo.gr/2011/09/07/project-ps3-shine-remove-ps3-exterior-scratches-with-novus/

Although its in Greek, it has lots of pics and you can understand the procedure. The product i used is called "Novus" and it comes as a kit with 3 bottles (shiner, light scratch remover, heavy scratch remover)

First you use Novus 1 (shiner) to clean the surface, then Novus 2 (light scratch remover) and then Novus 1 again to shine it good. For heavy scratches you use the bottles like this : 1-3-2-1

Hope it helps a lot of people

You can get Novus through ebay

Not half bad actually. I was expecting something like brasso to polish it to a nice foggy shine.

Trust me it needs a lot of work to look like NOS. And also this would work very good on hairline scratches. Deep scratches are simply a no-go even with the Novus 3.

Best thing is to buy a sander device to save yourself from a lot of sweat and I'm sure you'd get the best results out of it

When i have time I'll give it a go with the Novus 3 and a proper sander. Should be even better afterwards

Ever own an original PS3? Not an easy task. It scratches if you look at it funny. And some of us move around quite often :p

My PS3 is a launch PS3, totally spotless. Of course, I only ever touch the power and eject buttons.
