got a Star Trek New World proto for the dreamcast its build on the windows CE system. i tryed a dreamcast that has the windows logo on the front of the console (not shure if the have this all) but didnt work what to use and or wich boot disk do i need ?
Can't you do a swaptrick, like Borman said? I would do it like this: unscrew the four screws of the console, lift off the upper case. Insert an original gdrom/selfboot backup, hold the lid sensor and wait for the dreamcast to recognise the disc. Once it's recognised switch the disc for the gd-r. At this point I'd tape the sensor to make it stick. Then play the GD-R.
There is a System Disc 2 being sold in eBay right now but it's going for $300 (which considering it doesn't have the manual and is only in decent shape they're asking about $150 to much). If you really want one its an option.
It's incredible how many protos still remain to be seen after all these years. Would definitely try the swap trick and try to get some screens up - or work with someone nearby who can help may also be an option.
Are you able to post a picture of the disc? If it's a pre production GD with 'confidential' written on it, you'll almost definitely need a system disc 2. If you're in the UK I know several people who may be able to assist if this really is a previously unknown prototype of Star Trek New Worlds.
It's not on a GDR, looks like a CD-R if anything. I'm not sure but my gut instinct would be that this is the PC version, are you looking at the files on a MAC or a Windows PC?
Darn I was really hoping it was the DC version that would have been so cool! Yet another unreleased build of a game is so exciting. Noticed you had quite a few protos for a number of systems. Anything Dreamcast floating around?
I see nothing Dreamcast-related on this disc file list or youtube video. why you named it 'Sega Dreamcast Trailer' ? sounds like fake
Damn now I feel dumb for selling my SD2 for $80, $50 less than I paid for it. I was hurting for cash and the DC market had somewhat crashed at the time.
