Prototype Releases of 2013 Thread

I actually found out the rebirth.thp file is also in the GameCube SDK (only later versions), in thpplaydemo.

 

Added Borman's latest Xbox release, World's Scariest Police Chases 2.

Wonder if this will be the end of 2013 releases...?

 

there's a fixed version of the beta of Rayman 1 for the jaguar

My releases are listed Added Putty Squad. Think that brings a close to 2013 releases, unless I missed something. War on Wheels I think counts as the first proto release of 2014 New topic time? Yep!

In total, there were 56 releases on the list. Pretty sure I may have missed some DC rips, which was pretty much a bunch of final "betas" so not sure it's a huge loss they're not all listed. Still, a pretty impressive year! RE1.5, took long enough. An unreleased Virtual Boy game, which doesn't happen every day. I think over ten unreleased games, in fact. Considering how much more rare that is than betas of released stuff, that's not too bad. I'd give a whole retrospective on everything but I'm not a good writer. I know the Nolans from NintendoAge released a repro of Chuck Yeager on NES, another unreleased game. A ROM of that hopefully will be out eventually.

Partial builds have been around for several years, but with a recent proto cartridge sale on eBay (for a little over $800) we now have a fully playable (presumably nearly 'final') build of the game. The owner of vectrex.com purchased it (with help from other Vectrex fans for funding) and has shared the binary file.

I can bet some other stuff went under the radar for 2013.

 

Yeager ROM will be out shortly, just want all who paid for a copy to get theirs first. Thinking the next week or two for that one.
