PS Hard Disk Drive

Yep. Your with me. Altera DE2 FPGA development board. I will see the data and do whatever with it. I am new to it, but I have an idea.

 

Oh, any updates will be notified here and then the main update on my site.

Just waiting for Blaze3927 to get the microcontrollers setup and my IBM laptop's BIOS password flashed so I can re-install Windows (XP).


Actually, do you recommend that I install Windows XP and Windows 98 (SE)??

Or Windows XP, 98 and Windows 3.1???


We will be using the P/IO port a lot with parallel cable a lot and a lot of Sony software.

buil on win95/98 is ok,
of coz if you don;t want runtime error on CMD, make one DOS and 3.1 is better

 

OK. I have Windows 98 SE and all I get are errors and driver issues. Such a nightmare!

I will install them from the internet but its such an annoying OS...

And DOS 3.1. Windows 98 SE comes with that I think. So yea...

I'll install both. Windows 98 SE and Windows XP.

XP because if something newer such as Loser2000's software needs to be ran, then at least I can use it. Also, I will be able to go onto the net properly.

U can clone da PS3 chips by decappin, dopin, takin pix unda a microscope, etch da layer n repeat, reconstruct da imgs, make ur own <90 nm fab process den u b printin $$$

You are still seriously underestimating everything and worse, now you're focusing on things that have no relevance. First it's "someone gets it!", now it's "your [sic] with me." (how? For agreeing on a FPGA???) It's clear you don't have any new insight because you're still playing defense in this thread.

The PS IDE doesn't matter, go learn something that matters like what to do with that FPGA.

 

@HI-Ricky; that actually sounds like the perfect way to do it and is a realistic target.

Have you guys considered looking at the Yaroze?

I believe that allows streaming from a host in order to avoid burning shit loads of CD's, there might be something in that.

try get one DTL-S2020 , see what they did, it may big help to you KNOW how the PSX CD Emulation dev did ~

 

DTL-S2020 is CD-ROM emulator for the DTL-H2000 / DTL-H2500 / DTL-H2700.

It emulates a SCSI HDD through a DTL-H2000 etc for testing / debugging.


There is one for sale that I know of, except I am missing the DTL-H2000. lol. And there is no way I can afford that equipment. I am going to have to start from scratch and do it manually - IE: with an FPGA development board.

I don't want to be harsh, but judging from Haunted360 portfolio (his website, especially PSX DEV portion of it), he still have shitload of things to learn. "Boot Start Hack"? Damn, even 12 year kid could do that (at least I did, when playstation homebrew developement still lived). What is so special about using idiot-proof pre made tool and posting it on youtube? What's next? Walkthrough for windows soltaire?

There was a page that had a speedy deletion request attached to it where Haunted360 moved it to his user page.

It has taken me 6 years to understand electronics well enough to begin considering to learn VHDL in order to program FPGAs and I'm sure I'm still 6 years off from attempting a project such as this. Half of what has been written here has left me shaking my head between the inanity of the post content to the insults left to people who are respected around these parts.

Your own 555 timers from someone else's schematics? Or did you grab all of the transistors necessary teaching yourself along the way? When I was in High School anyone could take "Electronics 1" and solder to a bunch of PCBs.
