Pick them up at a junkyard, it got water damage and one of them got a broken inner screen. So......... I think is teardown time. Took out two screws on the bottom and two more at the back, under the stickers, and use the nail to open the back. Is a painful process to force the back to open.
Take out 6 more screw on the back case and one more under the pad, then lift the back and disconnect the screen cable
Oh....that's intersecting, seems sony put the CP board onto the back of the main board with a socket.
Damn, this is amazing, I am glad the units ended up with someone who is willing to document them. I just want to say I very much appreciate what you are doing!
As long as TM communicates with it you should be fine. HDMI output might be a bit of a problem but there's weird set of reasons for that. As long as both are below 0.996 you're fine. Dont update them under any circumstances.
Please tell me you didn't update past 0.995. if you did you have fucked up very very bad. You NEED to keep them below that mark or you lose what makes them so desired
Yes I'm aware but once you go past a certain version (supposedly) the major sercurity changes will prevent it from going down to the versions without those security checks. I wouldn't test it but just be sure you keep it on what you found them on.
