I got this back in 1995 or 1996. Been kept in storage ever since. Guy claimed he got it from Japan and he was told it was a proto board? I really don't know. Anyway I got it for dirt cheap back in the days so it doesnt really matter what it is. Maybe its a SCPH-1000 PS1 board (it has the SVHS connection at the back) Other than that does anyone know anything just by looking at this board?

It looks like just a regular SCPH-1000 board but it could be a Debugger Board as well, DTL-H1000, I'd have to take my DTL-H1000 apart and see if I can find any similarities.

Boards in great shape from what I can see. I'll take my DTL-H1000 apart maybe tonight if I have time and see if I can find anything on it that would help use identify this board.

If you had another playstation hanging around, you could connect it up and see if it boots.

I think hooking it up is the only real way to know. Find a SCPH-100x model PS1 and put that board in it. Test retail US and JP discs. If both work maybe it's a debugger. If games have strange issues maybe it's a prototype though I doubt it. I think I've seen that PU-7 marking on my SCPH-1001 when I went to put a modchip and new laser in it.

    Thanks for the answers!

Yeah Disjaukifa its in great shape cause it was locked away for 15 years and it was packed really well! If you can, take apart your debugger but it would hurt my heart to see that blue beauty of yours taken apart! DO NOT DO IT!! :D

I've send my SCPH-1001 to the US for some pro audio modding and when it gets back i can test this thing out

If in the mean time someone wants to take apart their debugger do so but not if its in pristine condition like Disjaukifa's

I just took apart my DTL-H1000 and it has the same markings. I took pictures of the board as well but I haven't had a chance to take them off my camera yet, I'll do that later tonight.

It might be a debugger board, I'm not really sure though . . .

It is a SCPH-1000 board, although not the first revision as IC103 has an early 95 date code.

Really huh? Ok then maybe its going to be audio modded along with my other SCPH-1001

Does anyone know where I can find all the other parts of the PS1?

I know ebay has some laser parts but what about the case, power supply, controller ports, etc?

Your best bet is just to be a donor Playstation, however since its a SCPH-1000 . . . thats going to be kind of expensive . . .

The laser from the SCPH-101 (The US PSOne) is compatible with the SCPH-1001, don't see why the same wouldn't be true for the SCPH-100 as well. The laser assembly can't just be dropped in you have to cut the casing around it a bit for it to fit and sand it but it is absolutely amazing how well it works as a drop in replacement.

Power supplies can be easily had but I don't know where you'll find a proper case unless you do find a donor SCPH-1000 as the SCPH-1001s didn't have a S-Video plug at all. I'm guessing Japanese only but I truely don't know.

Because I have the same board with basically the same chips sitting in a display cabinet next to a mid revisision Famicom and a Gamecube, it was a board taken from a Y105 PS1 SCPH-1000 model, which I picked up in a second hand store in Japan.

Yeah, SCPH-1001 didnt have an S-video output but i think the case would do either way. I think the case closes up regardless if you use a board with or without the S-video plug

Now I haven't compared the all the chips yet but it looks almost identical to the DTL-H1000 board I posted in my above post. Is there anything else I'm missing that is different?

Basically only the SCPH-1000 has the s-video port and as the SCPH-3000 which removed the s-video port came out in summer 1995 so the US and Japan could use the same motherboards.

The SCPH-1000 and the blue debug machines have motherboard PU-7, if IC103 (custom MIPS R3000A) is dated anything after mid 1995 then it is easy to see it is a debug board. Your machine for example has a date code if 9733 or the 33rd week of 1997 (which is August).

IC102 is the BIOS, again as this matches the board I have I can quickly tell it is a Japanese SCPH-1000 machine, I sadly can't read the chip number on your machine but it is likely to be different.

Thanks for the information thats great to know! I'll have to take another look at my board and see what the BIOS is on it.
