You can get PlayStation parts very cheaply (as in few dollars/euors) at flea markets. I don't see why you would resort to eBay for that, as it's far slower and much more expensive. You can always hack your case to make the S-Video port come out.

Two weeks ago I managed to get a SCPH-102 PSone with a slightly broken case for 2.50 euros, it was slightly wet because it was raining a little when the flea market was being held, and due to that I managed to get it for less. Works flawlessly, anyway. Even if sometimes you have to wait a bit to find and get what you want, it's well worth it, IMHO.

The foil underneath does make me cry though, That could easily short it.

That's exactly what went through my head I was like placing that beautiful board on an aluminium foil isn't the best of ideas it might damange the board and chips due to static discharge!

Use an anti-static mat or container:thumbsup:

Thats the way it was given to me and I havent tested it ever since. I will try to find an old broken scph-1001 i have laying around and I will tell you how it goes

On a side note I have used foil for pc processors and i had never had a problem with static

provided theres' no current going through it, foil shouldn't be an issue.
