    Hello Everybody,

I need your help to know if there is a modchip able to boot all on such a machine ?

In fact I recently purchase a MM3 thinking it will work the same as on my PAL unit.
But not, the Jap MM3 will only boot NTSC-J backup :-/

I have tested with my PS Hacker , all works but it's not the best, I would prefer a modchip.

    Thanks for your help.

    My PS1 is a SCPH-7500
    Regards

There is no modchip that will allow it to boot all games.

Only way is to swap the bios

Any other test I could do then if 7500 should be OK (No Bios Protection) ???

Also, this would be a possibility then to swap bios ? Just a chip to swap ?

    Thanks for quick reply !

First of all, the SCPH-7500 does indeed have territory protection in the boot ROM, and will only boot discs that have a Japanese license sector on them. All the Japanese PlayStations are like this apart from the early SCPH-1000 models.

Swapping the boot ROM works, with the best option being the SCPH-7501 or SCPH-9001 boot ROMs from the US consoles - they still boot in NTSC mode, but don't have any territory protection and have English menus.

You can also use a cheat cartridge flashed with Catela in conjunction with the modchip - this will allow you to boot copies or imports and still use the correct ToC from the disc you are booting.
