I've cleaned dirty cartridges with an alcohol soaked Q-Tip. Genesis/SNES games never froze on me since.

Did you like spill the whole bottle onto the thing? If so, then some alcohol might have gotten into the capacitor or transformer which isn't good.

    here:

    (sorry for the bad quality)

-the thing in orange is the 4-pin slot that have no wires thast could fit on it nearby.

    - look at the blue square in the middle. look at the blue stain... im wondering why its here... maybe for nothing... maybe because of the alcohol? i didn't noticed if it was there before is use my rubbing alcohol on my q-tips.

    -My ps2 model is : SCPH-30001

so , what's the prod doc?

    :-D

never opened a ps2, im not a sony guy, but it looks like the 4pins should go on top of 4pins on acircuit board underneath. they should just sort of slot in. But as i said, not haiving ever opened a ps2, i can;t be sure. Just check that there are 4 pins underneath it and that they are making a good connection

the under of the ps2 is really though to acces, i've tried earlier but stoped in mid-way fearing i broke something (there's some really slimmy connectors .)

Ok.. blue stain = dont worry its all over stuff in there in any ps2..

That white box you see, yes if you pull the PSU out you will see metal pins going from where that is into the ps2, the psu needs to have those 4 pins slide into their respected 4 slots (on that white thing)

So... its not because of that 4-pins slot and not because of alcohol.... static? i don't think so....i think i'll never make im start again, since i really don't know why... :smt022

Try purchasing a new powerboard, for instance here: http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=132&products_id=1764&

wait... that's not vodka, its isopropyll rubbing alcohol, not really good to drink. :smt030

anyway, i certainly could create one by myself, no? or replacing dead parts from the board (which i would like the best) .
