Maybe you will even manage to get progressive scan for PAL DVD 576p :).

could be possible to install DNAS individualy encrypted memory card data to other consoles? I wanted to make SOCOM Updates work with all my PS2s.

Also, is it possible to hack the Your Network Configuration file to work with any console and not just the one where it was been created? also make 6 ISP profiles would be great! There is a SCEE YNCF Tool on Sony SDK that allows to create on with 6 profiles, but it is just for testing and does not work.

DVD player stuff only regards to Magic Gate, not DNAS.

    Never said that?

DNAS binding doesn't belong on this thread.

Your reply was like I said that DVD Player uses DNAS. I know that system "updates" uses Magic Gate and Not DNAS, but since this thread is about official software installed on a memory card I took the opportunity to ask about making DNAS-MC data usable on any console.

The problem with your logic is that DNAS is something that is added to games through a library, compiled onto the games, it's NOT part of the PS2 system.

Magic Gate in the other side, is part of the system and is dealt with directly by the BOOTROM. Additionally, this thread is meant to discuss modifications made specifically on the DVD player. It's binding to memory cards work in a different way than the DNAS binding you're talking about (DNAS binds to the console ID/Ilink MAC, not to a specific memory card like Magic Gate does).

Thank you very much for this contribution, I have succesfully made my PS2s DVD region free. I have a question, can this be used to enable progressive scan on units that didn't have it on DVD playback? I mean, since all PS2s can do progressive scan on games that support it. I think l_oliveira pointed out sometime that it was Sony's way of making people buy more consoles and it makes sense.

The link from the pastie seems to be down; any chance of a reupload?

I think I got both the RGB output and the progressive output option fixed.
The files are in Pastie 10909521

The progressive scan option should be available regardless of the console revision with this hack. Although, it might not work with the earliest models. I tried the progressive scan in a SCPH-30004, I think it has a GH-007 board, and all I got was a "No Signal" message on my TV. Worked no problem with a Foxconn SCPH-30001 R (GH-015 I guess), with a component cable.
I let you gentlemen report which units are compatible or not.

    Pastie 10909520
The bigass folder hasn't been updated for ~2 years. All the hacked binaries are probably progressive-disabled.
I thrown the v2.14A into it before the reupload.

    Yes.
Reprogram the MechaCon NVRAM of all your consoles with the iLink ID your SOCOM files are bound to. [Units with the DRAGON MechaCon will not allow you to do that.]
    or
Hardcode the iLink ID into the DNAS libraries and into the CDVDMAN module(s) of your SOCOM disc, like it has been done to the POLVIEWER (Pastie 10832960) and the arcade gamez...

There's no "dvdplayer.elf" in this package, so on which file i should use "KelfTwinSigner.exe"?
Copying files from a package to existing directory on a MC doesn't help to get progressive scan.

Sorry, forgot to mention. ASIA.KELF and US_EU.KELF are the files to be twinsigned.

    - Choose a KELF file according to the button mapping you want :
    ASIA.KELF == X to decline, O to accept
    US_EU.KELF == X to accept, O to decline

    - TwinSign it

    - Rename it as dvdplayer.elf and copy it to your BxEXEC-DVDPLAYER folder.

The other files, ASIA.ELF and US_EU.ELF, are decrypted files to try out the DVD Player without a MC, by launching it from the root of a USB drive.

    EDIT :
The RGB fix and the progressive scan work in my SCPH-30000.

I don't know if i'm doing it right, but are you certain that US_EU.KELF, ASIA.KELF should be twinsigned,
    not a US_EU.ELF, ASIA.ELF

Yes I am. Although, I haven't tried to twinsign and install them.
I did test the unsigned binaries (the ELFs) from uLE, authored the KELFs, then ensured that the authored binaries (KELFs) could be bound to the MC using SecrDownloadFile.

I gonna install FMCB and try to twinsign the KELFs and give a feedback asap.

    No problem.

I can confirm that the twinsigned US_EU.KELF boots from the MC. Had access to the progressive scan option and the extra line of OSD icons in my Japanese SCPH-30000 console. The FMCB KELF which was used for twinsigning US_EU.KELF was FMCB v1.952, installed to a genuine $ONY MC by FMCB installer v0.972.

    My BIEXEC-DVDPLAYER folder contains :
    - dvdplayer.elf (the twinsigned US_EU.KELF)
    - dvdplayer.ico (MC browser icon)
    - icon.sys (which relies to dvdplayer.ico)
    - BTNB (English resource file)
    - HLPB (English resource file)
    - LGBB (English resource file)
    - MSGB (English resource file)
    - NUMB (English resource file)
    - dvdplayer.id (minimal DVD Player version based on rom1: DVDID / rom1: DVDIDx, "9.99J" for a Jap unit.)
    - dvdplayer-e.ver (version of the MC installed DVD Player, "3.11 (RPC-1)".)
    - dvdplayer-j.ver (version of the MC installed DVD Player, "3.11 (RPC-1)".)

Have not tried ASIA.KELF but it should work too, since it uses the same KELF container.

    About Pastie 10909521.
When I downloaded and extract it, some files were missing:
    dvdplayer.ico
    icon.sys
    dvdplayer.id
    dvdplayer-e.ver
    dvdplayer-j.ver

So when I will have a time (in the evening), i will add those files and make a test.

When I insert my MC with new DVD Player modifications form yesterday in my SCPH-50004,
enter triange button i've this picture:
    [IMG] DVD Player 3.11 (RPC-1)
The same MC in a 77004:
    [IMG] DVD Player 3.11E
Here is an image from a PS2 MC browser:
Here are my files on a MC:
    [IMG] dvdplayer.elf (US_EU.KELF) was twinsigned.

My Fat SCPH-50004 does not read discs, so I could not test it.
When i insert DVD movie in a slim 77004,
    I don't have a green screen.
The progressive option is avalible for NTSC DVD movies.

So at the first sight i was confused (DVD Player 3.11E),
but in the end everything works.

If only progressive option (576p) will be also available for PAL movies,
either way, thank you @krHACKen once again for this modification.
