[PS2] POPS stuff & POPStarter

    You can't use Progressive Modes of GSM, it will make POPS crash! However, Blaze HDTV Player works, but make the screen too small, so i think it not worth.

    You can try GSM 0.23x and set NTSC (set the DW to 2560 and DH to 480, Horizontal position value to 625 and vertical to 20)
    or...
    set the 1080i mode (DW 1920, DH 1080)

    @krHACKen is possible enable to load external memory card? (PS1 memory card) any patch that allow load from slot 1 instead VMC?

    SMB Update is awesome!
    I note an problem: Parasite eve continue black screen after ending credits. With problem, is impossible to play the Ex mode.

    Could you elaborate on the bugs you had? I didn't have any problem with it so far, certainly not with POPS since it's just to launch the ELF

    Haha c'est moi qui vous remercie AlGollan, grâce à votre travail et celui de krHACKen (et de nombreux autres dont je ne connais pas le nom) je profite pleinement de ma PS2 et de mes bons vieux jeux PS1 :)

    thanks dear, itry some of set but I have black screen....with my HDTV I ha ve a good picture but I would like to accurate it with out upscaler.....

    One other problem the filter seems doesnot work....I have POPStarter Revision 13, WIP 05 with HDD, I sue officila component HD cable on my HDTV

    I only use GSM because i have to, my TV does not allow PS1 Games resolution to be played over component cables.

    try using the mode 9 in all games and don´t use any external bios

    And how i can do that? I only have found the PATCH_9 wich seems to only disable the PAL patcher, is it going to make the PS2 output NTSC at 640x448?

    copy the patch_9 in the pops directory in the past versions of popstarter this patch are needed to fix the black screen with GSM

    Talking bout OPL :
    psalmsamuel (aka Yeshuachrist) has posted a modified OPL on the Emuparadise forums, alongside the usual trash (uLE hexedited to remove the credit screen, fake FMCB version, hexedited CUE2POPS...). Please refrain from using the garbage stuff he used to post. It's completely worthless and shitty.
    And since he likes to hexedit everything he can and did that on POPS.ELF, if you do use his shit, then please DO NOT post reports in the official POPStarter compatibility lists. It's none of my business if POPStarter fails to apply its patches because of that lamer's hexedits.


    I affraid it's not going to happen. POPS re-writes the entire VMC when the game is saved. Not just the game's data block(s) and the MCX header. POPS itself has no physical MC support.

    Done. Will be doable with the next build. I crafted an ELF launcher for IGR, which handles BOOT/BOOT.ELF from mc0 and mc1. If none it exits to the OSD.
    Yeah I couldn't reuse POPS internal functions because any fileio request crashed the IOP.

    It disables the PAL patcher so POPS runs at the correct NTSC speed. Leaving it enabled when using GSM to force an NTSC mode causes audio skipping/stuttering and other framerate issues because of the PAL clocking.
    Yes, PATCH_9 or $NOPAL is required when GSM is used.
    I just implemented a little something. It scans the EERAM from 0x00080000 to 0x00100000 and automatically disables the PAL patcher when both the XBRA and the GSM magics (as seen in GSModeSelector v0.23x beta) are found. You'll no longer need PATCH_9/$NOPAL with the next POPStarter version.

    Awesome news! Will make testing games a tad easier, cause for now gotta get my fat ass up to press reboot lol.
    And my suggestion should have been to default to OSD should BOOT/BOOT.ELF not be present, instead of catering to just my case >_> sorry bout that

    I did find a way to import my PS1 save into POPS using uLE and MemcardRex.

    Basically you use uLE browser to copy the save files off the ps1 mc to USB, then open the VMC file POPS generated in MemcardRex (just put "*.*" in the file open dialog to be able to select them), select a free slot, right-click on it and import the save you copied on USB, click the save button and voilà, save file imported

    Whoa! Finally Thanks, you've made my day :)

    So in the next build i will not need to use GSM 0.23x to force NTSC (full buffer/ DW 2560, DH 480) in order to display PS1 Games? at the moment, when i do not use GSM, my LG TV Full HD show "invalid format" message when playing PS1 games.

    No, in the next you need the GSM to upscale the psx games, but no the patch_9 for run the GSM.
    Surely your tv don't support 240p its the psx native resolution with component cable, the only way is use GSM or buy an external component to hdmi upscaler but its very costly and not all support 240p, the 480i and 1080i resolutions works for you..??

    @krHACKen The image of the games by popstarter are misaligned to the right of the television, there must use the GSM 0.23x in order to center the image would be possible in a future version of popstarter, have an option to be able to adjust the screen manually to centralize it before start the game, could be a fixed option saving a txt configuration file in mc game folder.[​IMG]

    Maybe I'm not one who reporting this error, but what it means?

    Have no idea why popstarter can't mount common partition, seriously. I have all pops binaries in this partition and even tried to recreate partition - nothing. Same error every time I launching ELF/KELF. Any suggestions?

    Bom Dia eu queria saber se tem como converter Tomb Raider 2 para bin/cue, mas quando vai converter o jogo fica sem som, eu já tentei converter pelo IMG BURN mas não converte, desde já agradeço.
