After seeing my PS1 registry reaching over 70 consoles! I decided to see how many PS2's everyone has in total! Both fat & slim and all colors and versions. :3 and also, note: this is my last registry thread so no worries, I'm just really into ps2's and would be amazing to see if we get some that have close serials. Consoles typed in Red are my own ones, It's so I know which ones are mine if I need to write my serials down. please make it like this form below: Slim or Fat? - SCPH-xxxxx - serial - color - working or not? details? how long you have had it? information, etc. :3 - I'll start with my Fat ones, and do the slim ones later: Fat: #1 - SCPH-39004 - FC1403749 - Black - Untested as of 2013, got it in 2011. #2 - SCPH-30004R - C4542912 - Black - Starts up but won't play any game. #3 - SCPH-30004 - C1759737 - Black - Untested #4 - SCPH-30004 - C1533525 - Black - Sadly someone has messed with this one and it's like very poor in shape, don't think it works #5 - SCPH-50004 - AC4371837 - Silver - Working. #6 - SCPH-50001 - FU6483176 - Black - Working - NTSC-U model with slot for HDD in the back, no Firewire port, support for DVD+/-R, and remote support. I bought it new around 2004. #7 - SCPH-10000 - J1399031 - Black - Working - NTSC-J launch model (I think) with Firewire port and PCMCIA slot. Seems a little heavier than the 50001, but it's hard to tell. I traded a 360 HD-DVD player for it in 2006. #8 - SCPH-39004 - FC1127663 - Black - Working, seal appears to still be intact, drive tray stutters slightly on eject; my main PS2 w/ SCPH-10350 Network Adaptor, 60 GB HDD and hacked English PSBBN #9 - SCPH-30004 - C0746486 - Black - Drive barely reads any disks, currently in pieces and awaiting reassembly or maybe just keeping it for spares #10 - SCPH-30004R - C5012579 - Black - Fully working #11 - SCPH-50004 - FC887C643 - Black - Fully working #12 - SCPH-30003 - B0753806 - ????? - ????? - BAR CODE S01-2753806-F launch model FOR UK duo 3 ultra fitted works fine #13 - SCPH-39003 - B3501262 - Black - Faulty - BAR CODE 00-27202960-3501262 will be fixed at sometime #14 - SCPH-39003 - B3928352 - Black - Working - BAR CODE 00-27202960-3928352 #15 - SCPH-10000 - J0500044 - Black - Faulty (freezes randomly), presumably due to having faulty clock generator circuits. Has a very weak DVD photodiode, with ROM v1.00. Manufactured by S. KISARAZU. #16 - SCPH-10000 - J2270914 - Black - Dead, killed during a failed repair attempt. Was previously faulty, with the same freezing and sound symptoms as the Kisarazu unit. Has ROM v1.01, hence it's not a launch unit. Manufactured by S. MINOKAMO. #17 - SCPH-15000 - J3241501 - Black - Working. Has warranty seal, which appears to be unusual for this model. Purchased by its original owner on 2000/07/15. Manufactured by S. KOHDA. #18 - SCPH-39006 - FE0386579 - Black - Working. Has GH-022 mainboard and Sanyo HD7 laser. Made in China. #19 - SCPH-30001R - FU1522035 - Black - Working. #20 - SCPH-50002 - AC4366433 - Silver - ?????? Not a bad idea. Here are mine. Phat: SCPH-50001 - FU6483176 - Black - Working - NTSC-U model with slot for HDD in the back, no Firewire port, support for DVD+/-R, and remote support. I bought it new around 2004. SCPH-10000 - J1399031 - Black - Working - NTSC-J launch model (I think) with Firewire port and PCMCIA slot. Seems a little heavier than the 50001, but it's hard to tell. I traded a 360 HD-DVD player for it in 2006. I have another one, but it's broken, and I don't have access to it at the moment. I'll update when/if I can find it. If my explanations are too long, feel free to edit them down.
Fat: SCPH-39004 - FC1127663 - Black - Working, seal appears to still be intact, drive tray stutters slightly on eject; my main PS2 w/ SCPH-10350 Network Adaptor, 60 GB HDD and hacked English PSBBN SCPH-30004 - C0746486 - Black - Drive barely reads any disks, currently in pieces and awaiting reassembly or maybe just keeping it for spares Also have a Fat NTSC-U PS2 in storage, which IIRC doesn't read any game DVDs but CDs are fine...? Something like that, it's been ages since I had it running. There's also my previous main PS2, another SCPH-30004, that I gave my family back home as a Christmas gift last year; that one works fine too but is in rough shape, had to mend it a lot...
#1 - Fat - SCPH-30004R - C5012579 - Black - Fully working #2 - Fat - SCPH-50004 - FC887C643 - Black - Fully working
This one is very rare! I think you shouldn't use it for spares, seems to have a LOW Serial. like 746.486 so hmm.
I had a Fat but it broke and I don't have it anymore. Luckily I have a slim one: SCPH-79010 - HQ0512401 - Black - Working - NTSC-U manufactured and sold by the mexican branch of Sony.
I have a few All uk models. SCPH-30003 B0753806 BAR CODE S01-2753806-F launch model FOR UK duo 3 ultra fitted works fine SCPH-77003 FB7400426 BAR CODE 20-27209561-4700426 SILVER SLIM mobo 760 fitted SCPH-77003 FB7127603 BAR CODE 20-27209161-7127603 BLACK working SCPH-39003 B3501262 BAR CODE 00-27202960-3501262 BLACK FAULTY will be fixed at sometime SCPH-39003 B3928352 BAR CODE 00-27202960-3928352 BLACK working I will add more as i get more ps2 consoles.
I happen to have a small collection of "unique" Japanese consoles from different plants: SCPH-10000 - J0500044 - Black - Faulty (freezes randomly), presumably due to having faulty clock generator circuits. Has a very weak DVD photodiode, with ROM v1.00. Manufactured by S. KISARAZU. SCPH-10000 - J2270914 - Black - Dead, killed during a failed repair attempt. Was previously faulty, with the same freezing and sound symptoms as the Kisarazu unit. Has ROM v1.01, hence it's not a launch unit. Manufactured by S. MINOKAMO. SCPH-15000 - J3241501 - Black - Working. Has warranty seal, which appears to be unusual for this model. Purchased by its original owner on 2000/07/15. Manufactured by S. KOHDA. DESR-5100 - J0842974 - White - Working. Manufactured by S. EMCS. I don't have units from SOLECTION (the non-Sony Japanese plant... lol), but I think that those units are only SCPH-18000 models. I'm not sure about the purchase dates of the SCPH-10000 units because I haven't seen their boxes in a long time. I think that the Minokamo set was bought somewhere in 05/2000, while the Kisarazu unit was bought somewhere in 03/2000 (Not sure if it was on the launch day. When was it?). And the other stuff that I don't really care about as much, but they were my earlier sets: SCPH-39006 - FE0386579 - Black - Working. Has GH-022 mainboard and Sanyo HD7 laser. Made in China. SCPH-77006 - FE6108917 - Black - Working. Only the SCPH-77006 is a slimline. I cut that extra bit out because that's the only slimline I have, and the lines were getting long. @_@ @OP: Is is really necessary for us to indicate the form-factor of the unit? It's known that: 1. The SCPH-10000, SCPH-15000 and SCPH-18000 are PCMCIA units, with the SCPH-10000 and SCPH-15000 having the "Protokernel" boot ROMs. 2. The SCPH-30000 to SCPH-39000 are expansion-bay sets with i.Link connectors. 3. The SCPH-50000 to SCPH-55000 are the expansion-bay units without the i.Link connectors. 4. The SCPH-70000 to SCPH-90000 are slimline units. 5. DESR units are PSX units. 6. PX300-1 is the PS2 TV, with ROM v2.50.
SCPH-55000? I've never seen one. Which motherboard does it have? And I thought only models >= 50000 are made in China. Currently have 77008, 70008 and 50008. Had 30004R and 39008 (made in Japan) - sold them. Is there an information how serials are made? Checksum number position and prefix meaning?
About my SCPH-30004, serial C0746486: Managed to put it back together somewhat, remembered in just how bad of a shape I got it while doing so - missing several screws, missing expansion bay cover, missing drive bezel, very scratched up. Also checked what, if anything, it still reads and as it turns out, DVD-based games seem to work (tried Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 2, played one fight VS COM which worked perfectly), while CD-based ones (tried Phantom Brave), audio CDs and video DVDs never even get recognized.
SCPH-30001R - FU1522035 - Black - Working. Has this stutter when opening the disc tray. Got it around exactly 1 year ago used at Gamestop, and it was so dusty when I got it I had to vacuum it out. Came with a PS1 Dualshock not a PS2, so I couldn't play many PS2 games on it, but it also came with an Network adapter. Immediately after I got it, I hacked it.
Hmm wow, thanks for this info. Glad to hear you tried to re-assemble it. Most ps2's I have seen have a digit where the zero is, which means it's probably number 7xx.xxx I hope so, who knows? That is one of the reasons I want to have serials included. Yeah. I'd like to know personally what Models people have. It's the same as with the PS1 registry. Thanks btw everyone! keep 'em coming!
Here are mine: SCPH-10000 J2790887 (Doesn't like DVDs) SCPH-30001 U2144719 (Bad power eject cable) SCPH-30001 R U1864495 (Laser is toast) SCPH-70012 FS3352078 (Cant boot PS2 DVDs) SCPH-70012 FS7874991 SCPH-79001 HU3542157 (Silver) DTL-H30101 0316205 (My main one, Debug, weak laser)
I used to believe that they started producing consoles in China starting with the SCPH-50000 line, until I got this unit. Unlike the SCPH-39001 (sorry, I returned it after having it for one day in 2010) that I had before it, this one has "Made in China" instead of "Made in Japan" stamped on it. This is a "v8" console, since it has a newer mainboard than "v7" units. It also comes with a Sanyo HD7 laser, like the SCPH-50000 series. If you look at the list of models on this webpage here: http://maru-chang.com/hard/scph/index.php/consoles/english/ ...you'll see the SCPH-55000. I saw the Gundam LE version on ebay before, so I know that it's real. As for the mainboard, I'm guessing that it has a GH-027 since it's a late model. Who knows, it might have something different (e.g. GH-029, which was known to be released in only Europe). No, so it's open to speculation. I always thought that the leading two digits were the batch/production run number, since the SCPH-10000 units have similar digits. I've seen J05XXXXX, J07XXXXX consoles, with only one with J04XXXXX. The "re-release" (v1.01) one seems to be at "J22XXXXX". I don't know about the later consoles though. Another interesting bit of information is the console ID. The serial number is the 5th, 6th and 7th bytes of it, but the other bytes should have some significance.
SCPH-50002 - FA0525272 - Black - Working. Standard Australian PAL PS2 model that was on sale circa 2003. DVD region 4. SCPH-50006 - FE3538549 - Black - Working. NTSC-J PS2 model from Hong Kong. Plays NTSC-J games but runs on 240 volts. DVD region 3.
@OP: You missed my PSX. PSX = the PlayStation 2 DVR unit. Unless, you want to only catalog retail PlayStation 2 consoles (and consoles that look like retail units, like TEST/debugstation units)?
What makes the 30004 so rare/desirable? I've gone through more PS2 consoles than I could count. I wish I had serial/model #'s written down of all them I've ever owned. I'll check out my two fat PS2's and my fat Test PS2 and edit this
