It seems I'm the only one with a working 10000 unit. It is a little slow reading discs sometimes, but it's still fully functional. I actually had another one that only read CD-based games, but not DVD-based ones. Then I took it apart to try to see what the problem was, and now it won't load any discs. The other unit still works fine, though.

It works, only problem is that I only got it about a year ago at a garage sale for about 15 dollars or so. I don't own any PS2 games and I'm wary about spending any money on used disc games that are pushing ten years old. I'm still working on getting HDLoader to work.

    Another one joining the list:

    SCPH-39004 - B3423932 - European PAL unit I've got for dirt cheap. GH-019 motherboard,originally was a C-type console but I converted it to R-Type a bit after I installed a open faced HD7. Color is black.

I also had a 30004R v4R but sadly it died. It had a 400B and couldn't read DVDs but CDs were fine.

    Fact: Silver didn't appear until 5000x for US/European consoles,however Japan had the 39000SS,very probably a v8,which looked like the US/Euro 5000x.

OK, I'll throw mine in. :)

    Slim - Black - 70003 - AB0522190

Still fully functional AFAIK. Haven't played it in a while but intend on playing Silent Hill 2 this week so I'll update if it's borked.

Bought second-hand to replace my first PS2 that stopped reading DVDs.

Received Christmas 2006 to replace my fat which had stopped reading discs a year or two earlier. In fact, it's the second PS2 slim I received that Christmas, the first of which was silver and was actually broken right out of the box; You can always count on Sony for quality! Modded w/ flip top for Swap Magic.
