And they say bluray was "needed for games", not to push the format into your home.

 

If they air something like this on TV Sony is screwed, watching those people play is as fun as watching someone reading a book. I don't think Sony can imitate Nintendo "Wii experience" ads, cause thier system lacks something like the Wii-mote (which nintendo flaunts at any chance). Even if they used the six axis movement to play it wouldn't look any better.

 

It's still better than the 360 jumprope commercials.

If that is in fact a Playstation 3 running a sports game, I think perhaps they used the wrong genre to advertise the console. In my opinion, sports titles aren't the best types of games to use as adverts for a new console. They all look close to the same on most consoles.

Call me crazy, but that video looks like something that might be cut into a news segment. The sort of perfect thing for a voice to talk over.

Ie: Blah blah blah, Playstation 3 is coming, blah blah (This video running in the background.)

Sony always said that bluray was needed for games, but when the system was turned on the sony pictures logo popped up. What I was getting at is, what does sony pictures have to do with PS3, unless bluray was put in their to help shore up the format and help sell their movies.

To be honest, do everyone really care that much about bluray? I mean the difference between a good dvdsystem and blueray isn´t that gigantic or am I missing something?

The downfall of the ps3 will be I think that sony said it was going to be stellar and what have come out is only "very good". Close but not close enough!
