BlueRay and HD-DVD definitely look a lot better than standard DVD. However, does BlueRay have anything over HD-DVD, that's questionable. Oh, and the advert is absolutely wank.
Currently, HDDVD, for the most part looks better than bluray because it's using better compression(bluray is on old mpeg2) This could change, but even then the difference in movies won't be much, bluray just allows you to pack shitloads of special features on one disc.
' Sweet, one feature I will definitely use is that you (in the future with bluray) can dub the movie in not just 1 or 2 but perhaps 20 different languages!!! And that´s not even talking about what you can do with "behind the scenes" fotage!!! :love2:
...or they can just add more unskipable previews, advertisements and copyright notices in 20 different languages (and make them all play in sequence). No, I'm not a pessimist; pessimists are too optimistic in my view.
BluRay has one advantage over HD-DVD, but it's only a temporary one. Both BluRay and HD-DVD disks store 1080p video, but so far only BluRay players are capable of displaying it. The HD-DVD players that are out currently only display 1080i/720p, but I think it is possible that they could release 1080p players in the future.
This one actually looks like a commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YErx0JgCHo Warning: Do not watch it in the dark while you are alone.
That was shite as well. Hmm, a baby doll talking with fire eyes. Yeah, just what will make me interested in a console. Yakumo
