Now alongside with being one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) consoles ever, the PS3 could also fit in the biggest box genre:

Well, yes. If this becomes a hit in Japan and not a single Japanese gamer complains about how large it is, they're all hypocrites and should not be allowed to play another video game.

 

It will become a hit, as always. But not allowing the Japs to play video games is like not allowing cows to milk.

You have a point, haha. I really hope it's not heavy though, I didn't feel comfortable carrying my xboxes to friends.

 

I honestly don't see the size of a console affecting my purchase of one. When I got my Xbox, I was wondering why everyone was up-in-arms over it being so big.

I'm sure the Japanese don't like the size of the PS3 but they will get one anyway, because it will most likely have the types of games they like on it.

Of course, I see the WII possibly selling more than the PS3 in Japan, though. But since both have the "innovation" of the motion sensor, I see a lot of them getting both.

Here we go again :-( The Japanese are complaining about the size of the PS3. It's too F*ing big they say but they'll still buy it because it will have games they want unlike the XBOX and the never ending stream of EA sports shite. Me, I'm getting a Wii. No need for super graphics ! 16 bit systems are still fun to play !

it seems to be a retail machine... how can they try games on BD-R? they got a bootdisc or what?

 

modified optical drive, just like TEST PS2 units, NR gamecube/wii etc

EDIT: how cheap of SONY. at least the XBOX 360 test units came with all the accessories and the proper HD cable - SONY just through a multi-AV cable->RCA , i guess it would be either shutting down lik-sang, or including proper cables

 

what is the other thick cable one is power
one is mini usb for the controler
one is av
and one is either net what is the last cable.

 

Not to mention the stress it will be for Japan's electricity net.
