Yeah, but tell developers that. Some developers right now are going to Sony because they have the motion sensor (although less intuitive as the Wii's) as well as the graphical power that some developers think is key. Sony's "theft" of the motion sensor won't shy developers away from making games that use it. Factor 5 is one of the developers in question. (They made a lot of Tie fighter games for the N64 and etc.) On another site I heard this: "PS3 = Wii + Xbox 360 price-wise and feature-wise." The price part is true, but the feature part is up to time to tell, but I think its generally true. But anyways, I'm not going to get a PS3 until the price has a dramatic drop and I'm probably only going to use it for exclusive titles, just like with my PS2. I think I'm also going to get all my FPS games on the Xbox 360 because I don't like using the PS2 controller scheme on the PS2 pad. It gets a little annoying.
Julian from Factor 5 is a clever guy, he likes his tech and he can deal with his hardwares. Other people however, I doubt that they will have the skill to pull off masterpieces such as Lair. That said, about FPS..imagine tilting the controller in order to side-step or side-dodge bullets etc. It aint bad.
Feature wise maybe, not only for the motion sensor but also for the tech specs (although the GPU is just slightly inferior to the one in the X360). But price wise? no way: not only it still costs as a coreX360+Wii, but even if it didnt by a low margin, you're still getting ONE console when you could've TWO for almost the same price. But since we're talking about the raving idiots (PS fanboys) anything is possible....
You don't have to be a raving idiot to buy a PS3.You just have to be well-off to afford it Even the shortest-lived consoles have some amazing games (DC), and the crappiest add-ons have at least one game worth buying the console (no disrespect, but SEGA-CD's Sonic CD). I m sure that at some point the PS3 will indeed have some aces of its own, even if the technical differences aren't a huge leap compared to x360.
for me it's all a matter of games. i don't care for 100 euros more or less if a machine can provide better games. the wii price is and INCREDIBLE rip-off, still if it'll provide nice games i might buy it.
ask analists. for the tech in it nintendo will gain more than 100$ per machine, so obsolete it is, while microsoft and sony will operate at a loss. wii is a gamecube with a slightly faster CPU (but still slow as the old xbox one) a POOR grafical card and a great way to control games. that doesn't mean that i won't buy it, but still it's 1000 times more a rip-off than a 700$ PS3.
The $250 price tag killed it for me because I'm being forced to buy a game I don't want at all (Wii Sport). Seriously Nintendo, stupid move. Make it free or throw a coupon in the box for 10% off Wii Sports or something.
i agree so much! sell it for 199 with no games! that is the way! 250 euros is killing! xbox360core goes here for 269euros now!
Man, one things is a FULL game like Zelda TP (like when the Saturn MKII came here with Nights in the box) but Wii sports (doesnt that sounds disturbing?) is no higher than an Indie pack-in game like those from gamehouse. Did you see the LiveMove video? programming the Wiimote is a piece of cake. I'm sure wii sports was made just for the E3, and then they said "hey, since we're recycling every piece of crap we got, why dont we just slap this techdemo with the Wii like if it was a REAL game? so we can charge even more to those bastards!" I may buy a Wii when they cut the price to at least $200. Is the only way I can get that thing without feeling stupid and completely ripped-off...
I don't like sports titles at all, so I'm going to wait and see if they release a version without it.
