So I've been having some issues with my PS3, and I need the experts on this one. Basically, the console is hitting buttons without my input. I first noticed it when I was playing madden and my player would just lob the ball backwards when I wasn't even hittng any buttons (this action is L2 or R2). This occurs on all games. Initially, I thought it was just my controller, but then I got another one to test this and it did the same exact same thing. I looked around online and just haven't found an answer to this one. Any ideas?

    Thank you in advance.

Using a SixAxis controller or DS3?

Both of them? For some reason, they are really finicky on systems, and its actually the controller losing connection.

Yeah, check out Sixaxis disconnect issues. I dont think there was ever a solution. I had a hell of a time on one of my PS3s. Try a Dual Shock 3, it should be much better. Plugging in via USB may help as well, I dont recall since it has been quite a while.

I'll give it a shot, to be honest I had no idea there was a difference. Not a big PS3 guy clearly. But I tried plugging it up to no avail.

Ok. I'm stupid. I have dual shock 3 controllers. I just checked the difference and I was mistaken. So both of my controllers are DS3 and have the same issues. I've tried a factory reset thinking it was a software issue. Didn't work. Any other advice. This is so odd.

I've had something similar happen to me, whereby random inputs would occur. I've been able to fix two controllers by following a guide such as this one (relevant part starts at 1:50):

Sorry I didn't reply sooner - work stuff. Anyway, I was hesitant that this was the issue - since it occurred with two different controllers. I didn't take into account the fact that it's actually not unthinkable that people with common controller issues like this would rip Gamestop off by trading them in. So I did this fix and so far the controller is working great so I suppose it's a done deal.

    Thank you guys once again!
