Tose later retracted their statement stating that was in error, and that indeed the 360 is ahead of the PS3. Kotaku had an article on this. You fanboys. At this point none of the contestants is leaving the market as they re all well established. Who's ahead in terms of units shipped doesn't mean crap anymore, both platforms have hit critical mass and are safe to develop for.
So it moved more units even with the X360s failure rates? And no piracy either, score one for the debunkers
For me personally, there's too many good games to play these days and even more past releases that I've yet to play. In the last few months I've bought Halo: Reach, Fallout: New Vegas, and CoD: Black Ops. I don't have time for all this crap! And then there's all the good Wii games coming out, too. It's expensive and time consuming to be a gamer these days.
Your forgetting that some peoples consoles broke for different reasons and they didn't necessarily get it replaced from Microsoft, instead opting to buy a new slim console.
Instead of worrying about XBLA games not working anymore, people should worry about not being able to play any 360 games after all of them break. I hate this argument. Not all of us had like 600 euros to drop on a console that didn't have any games worth playing. Besides, there was never a fully compatible PAL PS3.
Oh well? I coughed up the dough for a 20GB PS3 because I couldn't quite fully go for the 60GB. People bitched that the PS3 was too expensive at the time, So sony did what they could to bring cost down. PS2 BC was one of them (this **** isn't free). But people bitch about having less features then another model. While I do think they probably should have offered both (for those who could afford it, or at least an add on) but if people really wanted those features they should have bought it. Actually if someone wants one now, they have gotten pretty cheap. I've come across used BC PS3 for around $250-$300 (CDN).
