what do you all think will happen? Ps4 coming faster? rampant psp-like piracy?

 

maybe this will help get linux back on there? although im not sure if there are other ways currently so my point my be mute, doubt it will make the ps4 come around anytime sooner rampant piracy, meh prehaps

 

Don't see why not.

Piracy is a virtual inevitability. Sony's methods to fight it are counter productive and will only yield in harming consumers thus yielding more piracy when people figure out that the pirated games have less problems and possibly more features than the legit ones do.

Anyway, what i've read is that this only affects fat consoles and the CECH-2001 slim models. In other words, the majority. Slims from CECH-2101 and the new "super slims" models have lvl 0.2 keys. Also it seems it needs to downgrade to 3.55 firmware.

 

I certainly hope so. Sony's removal of the Other OS function is what put off on buying a PS3 for a while.

 

there is already a 4.21 CFW out there since yesterday, though v2 of it will be better.... so anyone interested in such things need to wait a couple of days more

Last time I was in Valencia some stores would sell you a PS3 already jailbroken and ready to load games off an HDD

It can, with the HDD already full to the brim with games.

 

And a stack of BD-Rs burnt with games for you to buy. Free piracy is one thing, paying for pirated goods is entirely another.

This is awesome news, seeing I want to put CFW on my 40GB model (It's never online).

It wasnt that bad in the 90's when the internet wasnt as big if that was your thing, i remember going to turkey and being amazed at all the US and Japanese PS1 games that werent out in the UK yet that i could buy for £3 a disc. wanted to go back again soley for that reason lol

 

I want to live on the internets, because there is everything cheap and posible. sadly no plane or rocket go there. Awesome news for Linux is this. Also homebrew.
