Yes they are. 7Force's comment makes no sense. Xbox originals are simply disc images of the originals. Encrypted, but otherwise the same game. You can buy an original disc of any Xbox Original and have it run the exact same as an Xbox Original download. Microsoft stopped updating BC for two reasons: 1) Most of the major titles were covered and there was a diminishing point of return for adding new titles. 2) Sony dropped BC support *entirely* so there was no competitive reason to invest the resources. Short version is that BC was attractive to a vocal subset of Xbox 360 owners, but not to the masses. Microsoft covered the major titles and made a cost/benefit decision when it ditched the rest. -hl718

Yeah, they do work, but many other emulated titles are completely broken, and since there's no way they'll ever show up on Xbox Originals, the BC will never be updated for them.
That's weird, because my buddy's girlfriend's granny heard at the dentist that the PS3 slim is going to cost $1000 and include a free XB360, but the older model because Sony is evil and hates every gamer alive.

This all means, of course, that the Slim is getting closer. They could have been covertly referring to the Slim when stating that it's 70% cheaper. Because, after all, it's probably in production right now. And if that's not the case, that means the Slim is even more than 70% cheaper to produce because they're talking about the Fatty. Good times are ahead...
As a sidenote if the Playstation Three (the slim one) does get released before christmas then it follows a trend of a declining time between revision launches. Took 5 years between the Playstation and Playstation One launch, 4 years between the Playstation 2 and Playstation Two launch and now 3 years between the Playstation 3 and the Playstation Three, if the trend continues then the revised Playstation Seven will be released a year before the Playstation 7.

The guy at SCE gave his personal friend, who owns a distribution company, the heads up on the slim - because he knew he was already sitting on a shit load of fat units. Disty told our buyer not to bother buying big stock of fats before xmas. Buyer told me. Easy as that. It may well still be total bollocks, but there you go..
JSRF is not an Xbox Original download. Mostly the lineup consists of games that sold well on the original Xbox, as well as some "huh?" choices like Sega Soccer Slam or Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows.
