Right bloody bargain. Only couple hundred more then america!

The price in europe is 599eur the british will pay 627eur.

Whats interesting is they look like they might only give us the expensive pack instead as they know theres no way parents will be buying the more expensive one when given the choice.

Mind you i was expecting £400 and £500 price points so its not that bad.

There's a lad who I work with that's the biggest PS fanboy I've ever come across. He knows the machine is 425quid, and he's even gone and put a 50quid deposit down already!

Wish sony would stop referring to it as cheap. £425 is not cheap, it would buy me a new PS2, XBOX, GC and a new game for each, with some change to spend in the pub later!

Its only cheap for people who actually want to go out and spend £1000 on a blue ray player.

I also find it likely these people will go with a stand alone unit rather then the ps3 as console players are always cut down versions of a proper player.

I told you guys that the $600 USD price tag is not cheap and it will be more in other countries such as UK and Australia when you guys compared the price of the PS2 when it was released in your country, which was about $500..

It's cheap for people like Kutaragi.

For normal people like us, that have to work hard to pay our bills, it's expensive.

It's not cheap but it's a homebrewers fucking dream come true... and a blue ray player.

I'm a poor student and I'm sure as hell is getting one at the release.

Why is it a homebrewers dream?

The price is fine, As a thank you I might send Kutaragi-San an extra cheque for a further £100.

I don't understand why everyone has to list European prices in their dollar equivalents. European economy = European prices. If I listed all of the shit I paid for in yen (900 yen beers, 100 yen apples) it would be rape as far as one could see. Everything in the UK is more expensive. Why should the PS3 be any different?

Why should it, is a better question! At least make it the same price as in the rest of Europe.

£425? Add another controller, a game and we're talking close to £500. So, do I buy a used car or a PS3? :S

Ah hell, I know I'll be there on release day, student loan in hand.

The few local stores here that've already started pre-orders for the PS3 premium has it listed with the usual treatment here of taking US price and adding a zero to it and replacing the currency icon, which means US $599,- -> NKR 5990,- and then flipped back to USD $985,-

They cant, as far as I know the london oil exchange is the second largest in the world (the other is in USA).

If they adopt the euro then other countries would be able to buy oil in euros, and that would hurt the dollar pretty badly.

Bloody hell, what type of beer do you drink? 500 or 600 at a push everywhere in Kyushu. Even clubs are 650 max. I think the UK are getting butt rapped with the PS3 price. The monthly salary in the UK isn't that high you know plus living expenses are a f:cking joke ! My brothers are always complaining! One brother works for Sony Computer Entertainment and gets paid less than my wife !! That is sad ! Another works for the government yet gets shit money. The only one on a decent income is the police officer and even he said that if you want to live in a area free of scum you'll be paying the mortgage forever. I'm glad I'm now in Japan. Here is quite cheap in comparison to the UK. Poor UK owners is all I can say.
