PS3 upconversion of PS2 games video quality.

Commendable! Dude, my Gf's bro wanted me to pass a part of it for him and I was just like....wow. He had a damn Gamecube too.

I think for awhile RE4 PC was the worst. It was ported from PS2 and had no shadows for awhile till a patch!

Wii version is the best.

 

Does anyone know why the PS3 does not upscale a PS2 game running in 480p? I would think that upscaling 480p to 1080p is easier than 480i to 1080p since do deinterlacing is required.

I tried to enable 480p by holding cross+triangle during boot of a PS2 title, the PS3 always gives me 480p over HDMI not 1080p.

 

well, it would need double the rendering capacity to do so I assume, considering it's double the scanlines per frame.
