Is that another way of saying "We're useless monkeys? A PS3 version might require us to do some work rather then port between machines and watch the money roll in"

Really, who wants to play an RTS game on anything except a PC anyway. Mouse and keyboard required, really.

Sales of the 360 C&C3 were about 110K, so they could expect 60K sales at most for the PS3 version. Not worth me diesel guv.

The PS3 being one of the machines that a mouse and keyboard can be plugged in and used easily....

You can do it too on a 360, it has USB ports. The only thing is that they probably don't want to.

that's fucked up. I wish Sony crash and burn, despite owning a PS3, due to my nintendo-grudge, but this is absurd!

I was looking forward to C&C: Red Alert 3 on the PS3 mainly so that I can plug in a keyboard and a mouse and play without having to shell out tons of cash for a new PC (my PC cant take new games, it's like 4-5 years old)

The 360 version will be ass judging by controller-based setups for RTS games such as C&C3. :( fucked up.

    Hardware "exotic and tough"

I think that only one in 100 programmers are good enough to get this kind of speed [nearly double] out of the Ps3

it's not as bad as the saturn, so don't make it sound that way.

The 360/PC porting is greatly facilitated by the existence of similar front-ends sitting on the abstraction layer. Considering the small user-base and the predicted sales, porting this game on the PS3 probably means that they can't make a relatively large profit margin to make it worth their while, including time wasted on research.

Oh come on now. EA is flat out being lazy. EA has no issue porting other games and hell they're the ones who did the shotty port of Valve's Orange Box to PS3.

If Ubisoft can push it's shit on the PS3, there is no ***king reason EA cant either. This has more to do with their shotty coders not being able to port it to the ps3 then anything else.

With the exception of Keyboard for text input & ff11, Suposetly microsoft won't allow KB&M setup for use in games. UT3 360 wont have KB&M even though the PS3 version had it.

Quite a few games do support the mouse and keyboard even if they don't mention so in the instructions.

Wasn't the Orange Box on the PS3 farmed out to another studio who were idiots and managed to make a poor port.

Anyway EA have probably realised that rather then do decent written games on a decent machine they'll write lots of poor games for the Wii. :D

Their programmers couldn't crack the hardware AND the RAM gets eaten up fast because C&C in general just eats it up when time moves on during the game.

I don't understand this. More like the porting team couldn't manage it. EA has plenty of skilled PS3 teams and the resources to port this game across. I think it is more a case of perceived sales vs cost.

Eh, as much as I try to enjoy C&C on the consoles, they still havent managed to get the controls or interface right yet.

I think is a combination of all factors.

We all know the PS3 isnt easy to code.

That EA is just another corporation that takes decisions based solely on market research.

And that EA's programmers dont seem to get the best deal out there, so I wouldnt be surprised if most of them arent the brightest minds out there, or have poor work ethics.
