I don't mean sales wise. I mean the system. I went to drop my Rock Band Guitar Off at the UPS Store. The guy behind the counter scans it. Looks at the address and asks me "Is that one of those Video game guitar things" "Yes" I reply. "we've been getting alot of those and XBOX360s and PS3s now too" "really" "Yeah but at least they all stand by their product" SO.....PS3s are starting to die? One UPS shop seems to say they are.
But he meant PS3s were failing in a similar number to X360s? Cuz some of them fail, less than 5%, but some nonetheless... Anyway, I wouldnt trust anybody who says "Video game guitar things" since probably he cant tell a Nes from a VCR, or a Genesis from a turntable.
Well, as any other machine I suppose there'll be some faulty units, but I don't think its rate is nowhere near the 360's. Mine at least works perfectly :icon_bigg
I dunno, more inclined to see UPS guy's point of view. He's neutral, sees the game for what it is, tells it as it is. I respect that, let us not forget the wise ramblings of many a drunk man lay quiet in the corner of his local public drinking house. And lest we not forget the nuggets of pure wisdom that have come from such characters. Come, let us sit by the fire and accept the teachings of UPS man, PS3 failure rate @ 40% and counting.
What do you expect when all the shit is made in fucking communist China? Blame the companies that use their cheap labor and lack of regulation. When they stopped making systems in Japan I think they took a big dive in quality.
Word, I had a japanese GameGear and a chinese one. The japanese one was top-notch, only broke after an accidental 6-foot fall into rocks, but the chinese one never worked properly to begin with...
So where do we stand with taiwanese manufacturers? Let's forget that the PS2, PS3, Wii, 360, iPhone + loads more are all shadow built by a company called Foxconn! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foxconn I know that the iPhones have design issues atm (bubbles on screen etc) - I guess the Wii is next - you're pretty much fucked no matter which avenue you go down nex gen wise
Yeah! Once again the Bastion of Truth, AKA UPS Stores, are proving their worth as a source of excellent knowledge regarding the functionality of consoles and video game paraphernalia. Finger ever on the pulse, sticking it to the man like only UPS can. God bless you UPS!
No I believe they were made in Japan for at least part of their life. My unit was manufactured in Japan.
Thats no secret, also most Macs are made by ASUS (or Abit since I heard jobs got cheap-ass lately:lol. Anyway, most taiwanese manufacturers have their factories in mainland china, so their products are actually chinese... EDIT: crap, double post! that what happens when I writte after a mocha...
